Abstract:
Methods of manufacturing a substrate including a component, such as superabsorbent material, having a volatile hydrophobic coating are disclosed. The method can include providing a fluid supply including a liquid and providing a supply of the component. The component can include a volatile hydrophobic coating. The method can include introducing the component to the fluid supply. The method can also include transferring the component in the fluid supply to provide the substrate. The method can further include applying heat to the substrate. The heat can remove the volatile hydrophobic coating from the component.
Abstract:
A coating composition comprises a base coat component and a top coat component. The base coat component comprises at least one resin selected from the group consisting of a styrene, a styrene-ethylene/butylene-styrene block polymer and a mixture thereof, and at least one solvent for the resin. The top coat component comprises a Methyl-methacrylate-Acrylate-Methyl-methacrylate block polymer and a solvent for the Methyl-methacrylate-Acrylate-Methyl-methacrylate block polymer. A method of temporarily coating a substrate comprises applying the base coat component to a substrate, allowing the base coat component to dry and applying the top coat component and allowing the top coat to dry. The resulting coating can be removed from the substrate by peeling, even after extended exposure to ultraviolet light.
Abstract:
The present disclosure generally relates to adhesion promoting intercoating layers, selectively strippable coatings, coating compositions, and methods of making and using the compositions and coatings. A coating composition can be provided comprising an organic polymer containing acid functionalities, a metallic agent, and a boron agent, which may be used on a coated substrate as a selectively strippable and/or adhesion promoting intercoating layer. The coating compositions can be applied to coated substrates within a broad application window and used within multi layered coating systems.
Abstract:
A coating composition comprises at least one solvent, at least one resin, and at least one filler, wherein the filler is silica-deficient, sodium-potassium alumina silicate. The silica-deficient filler may be a sodium-potassium alumina silicate that contains less than 0.1 percent by weight crystalline silica and is 5 percent by weight or less of the coating composition or 1 percent by weight or less of the coating composition. In the later instance, the coating composition contains less than 0.001 percent crystalline silica.. The resin may comprise styrene, styrenic copolymers, or mixtures including styrene. The composition provides a temporary gloss coating that may be removed physically, as by peeling for example. A method for coating a substrate with a coating that maybe removed by physical means is also provided. The method comprises applying the disclosed coating composition.
