Abstract:
A method and apparatus for tracking a movable object using a plurality of images, each of which is separated by an interval of time is disclosed. The plurality of images includes first and second images. The method and apparatus include elements for aligning the first and second images as a function of (i) at least one feature of a first movable object captured in the first image, and (ii) at least one feature of a second movable object captured in the second image; and after aligning the first and second images, comparing at least one portion of the first image with at least one portion of the second image.
Abstract:
A sentient system combines detection, tracking, and immersive visualization of a cluttered and crowded environment, such as an office building, terminal, or other enclosed site using a network of stereo cameras (202). A guard monitors the site using a live 3D model, which is updated from different directions using the multiple video streams. As a person moves within the view of a camera, the system detects its motion and tracks the person's path, it hands off the track to the next camera when the person goes out of that camera's view. Multiple people can be tracked simultaneously both within and across cameras, with each track shown on a map display. The track system includes a track map browser that displays the tracks of all moving objects as well as a history of recent tracks and a video flashlight viewer that displays live immersive video of any person that is being tracked.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for high-resolution 3D imaging ladar system which can penetrate foliage and camouflage to sample fragments of concealed surfaces of interest is disclosed. Samples collected while the ladar moves can be integrated into a coherent object shape. In one embodiment, a system and method for automatic data-driven registration of ladar frames, comprises a coarse search stage, a pairwise fine registration stage using an iterated closest points algorithm, and a multi-view registration strategy. After alignment and aggregation, it is often difficult for human observers to find, assess and recognize objects from a point cloud display. Basic display manipulations, surface fitting techniques, and clutter suppression to enhance visual exploitation of 3D imaging ladar data may be utilized.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns the use of methods and compositions to diagnose, treat and identify therapeutic molecules for cancer, in particular hormone insensitive cancers. The invention includes polypeptides and nucleic acids encoding polypeptides of MTA1s, a novel protein derived from alternative splicing of the MTA1 gene. Other embodiments include antibody compositions for the diagnosis and prognosis related to the aberrant expression of the MTA1s polypeptide.
Abstract:
Methods and coatings for a sugarcane stem section are shown and described. In one example, the disclosure includes a stem section that has been coated with a composition comprising a fatty acid component and a trigger-release component. In another example, the disclosure includes a method of growing sugarcane comprising planting a stem section that has been coated with a composition comprising a fatty acid component and a trigger-release component.
Abstract:
A processor may include a core and an uncore area. The power consumed by the core area may be controlled by controlling the Cdyn of the processor such that the Cdyn is within an allowable Cdyn value irrespective of the application being processed by the core area. The power management technique includes measuring digital activity factor (DAF), monitoring architectural and data activity levels, and controlling power consumption by throttling the instructions based on the activity levels. As a result of throttling the instructions, throttling may be implemented in 3rd droop and thermal design point (TDP). Also, the idle power consumed by the uncore area while the core area is in deep power saving states may be reduced by varying the reference voltage VR and the VP provided to the uncore area. As a result, the idle power consumed by the uncore area may be reduced.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of treating cancer in a human and to pharmaceutical combinations useful in such treatment. In particular, the method relates to a cancer treatment method that includes administering N-{3-[3-cyclopropyl-5-(2-fluoro- 4-iodo-phenylamino)-6,8-dimethyl-2,4,7-trioxo-3,4,6,7-tetrahydro-2H-pyrido[4,3- d]pyrimidin-1-yl]phenyl}acetamide, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate thereof, and Λ/-{(1 S)-2-amino-1-[(3-fluorophenyl)methyl]ethyl}-5-chloro-4-(4-chloro-1 - methyl-1 H-pyrazol-5-yl)-2-thiophenecarboxamide, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, to a human in need thereof.
Abstract:
A method and/or system for tracking objects, such as humans, over a wide area (that is, over an area that is delineated by a large spatial domain and/or a long-duration temporal domain) is provided. Such tracking is facilitated by processing, in real-time, near real-time or otherwise contemporaneous with receiving, images captured by each of a plurality or network of slightly overlapping stereo sensors, such as stereo cameras. The method includes and the apparatus is adapted for obtaining a plurality of local-track segments, wherein the plurality of local-track segments correspond to an object captured in images taken by a respective plurality of stereo sensors; and combining the local-track segments to form a global track.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for video surveillance is disclosed. In one embodiment, a sequence of scene imagery representing a field of view is received. One or more moving objects are identified within the sequence of scene imagery and then classified in accordance with one or more extracted spatio-temporal features. This classification may then be applied to determine whether the moving object and/or its behavior fits one or more known events or behaviors that are causes for alarm.
