Abstract:
Methods, devices, and computer program products for peer-to-peer communication are described herein. In one aspect, an apparatus includes a receiver and processor. The receiver is configured to receive a first data unit from a first device. The first data unit includes a Media Access Control (MAC) address of the first device and data. The processor is configured to generate a device address of the processor and a device address of the first device, and provide the generated device address of the processor, the generated device address of the first device, and the data of the first data unit to an application executable on the processor.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally provide methods and apparatus for enhanced discovery procedures in peer-to-peer (P2P) wireless local area networks (WLANs). With these procedures, discovery duration may be decreased, battery power consumption may be reduced during discovery, provided services may be ascertained during the device discovery phase without performing a separate service discovery phase, and/or the discovery range may be extended in an effort to discover a greater number of devices.
Abstract:
A method includes assigning a flow identifier to a flow that includes a plurality of packets. The method also includes generating a head packet of the plurality of packets. The head packet includes one or more header information fields that are associated with the flow identifier. The method further includes generating at least one data packet of the plurality of packets. The at least one data packet includes packet specific information and the flow identifier instead of the one or more header information fields. The method further includes transmitting the head packet. The method further includes, in response to detecting a successful receipt of the head packet, transmitting the at least one data packet.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for managing transmit power in a television white space (TVWS) network. One example method generally includes transmitting a sequence of request-to-send (RTS) messages at different transmit power levels to an apparatus and determining if a clear-to-send (CTS) message was received in response to at least one of the RTS messages corresponding to a particular one of the transmit power levels. Another example method generally includes receiving, at a first apparatus from a second apparatus, a packet that cannot be decoded by the first apparatus; determining at least one of a time or a duration corresponding to the packet; transmitting a query with an indication of the at least one of the time or the duration; and receiving a message from the second apparatus in response to the query, the message identifying the second apparatus as a source of the packet.
Abstract:
A method for wireless communications is provided that includes generating an index for a plurality of packets for use in a first radio link for transmission to an apparatus; transmitting the plurality of packets using a second radio link to the apparatus; determining transmission state information indicating whether each packet in the plurality of packets have been received by the apparatus; and transmitting additional packets based on the index and the transmission state information. Apparatuses for performing the methods are also disclosed.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses are proposed for supporting one or more user-dependent channel state information (CSI) feedback rates in a downlink spatial division multiple access (SDMA) system. For certain aspects, an access point (AP) may receive a channel evolution feedback from one or more stations and send a request for CSI to the stations whose CSI values need to be updated. For certain aspects, the AP may poll the stations for updated CSI values. For certain aspects, deterministic back-off timers may be assigned to the stations indicating when to send their CSI feedback. The proposed methods may improve system performance.
