    摘要: An image sensor for sensing EM radiation of at least three spectral components spread across a predetermined spectrum of interest comprises stacked front and back arrays of photoelectric sensor devices aligned in a one-to-one relationship, wherein the front array consists of interleaved sub-arrays of photoelectric sensor devices having a spectrally limited response that is the same within each sub-array and different between the sub-arrays, and the back array comprises photoelectric sensor devices each having a response to the entire spectrum of interest. Consequently, the front photoelectric sensor devices output signals representing the one or more spectral components, and the back photoelectric sensor devices output a signal representing the total of all of said spectral components that reach the back photoelectric sensor device without conversion by the aligned front photoelectric sensor devices. This allows the derivation of full resolution images with a high sensitivity and a simple image sensor construction.

The waves are scanned by tuning them over a tuning range. During a scan, a plurality of interference measurements are generated from the waves in each interferometer (30, 30', 30'') dependent upon the path difference of that interferometer (30, 30', 30''). The unknown path difference of at least one of the further interferometers (30) is determined from the interference measurements for that scan.

    摘要: A method of detecting simultaneously acetone and carbon dioxide, and preferably methane, in breath using cavity-enhanced absorption spectroscopy. The method utilises a broadband light source emitting light in the range 1640 to 1700nm such as a superluminescent light emitting diode. The light is coupled into an optical cavity into which the breath sample is admitted and the characteristic spectral features of carbon dioxide, acetone and methane are identified in the absorption spectrum output. Wavelength selectivity can be provided by use of a tunable fibre filter on the input side of the cavity or by an FTIR on the output side. The apparatus is suitable for widespread use as it is relatively portable and durable and it can thus be used for screening for diseases in which the presence of acetone is a marker, such as diabetes.

    摘要: A method of tracking targets in video data. At each of a sequence of time steps, a set of weighted probability distribution components is derived. At each time step the following steps are performed. First, a new set of components from the components of the previous time step are derived in accordance with a predefined motion model for the targets. The video at the current time step is then analysed to obtain a set of measurements, and the new set of components is updated using the measurements in accordance with a predefined measurement model. Finally, the set of components derived at each time step are analysed to derive a set of tracks for the targets.
