Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for filling a cartridge (16) with a flowable component (28), the method comprising the steps of: - providing a cartridge (16) with a cartridge chamber (18), the cartridge having a piston (20) arranged in the cartridge chamber, the cartridge chamber and the piston defining a storage volume (30), the piston having a through-hole (22), - arranging a filling nozzle (14) at the through-hole and - filling the cartridge (16) by dispensing the flowable component (28) through the through-hole (22) of the piston (20) into the storage volume (30). The invention further relates to a system suitable for executing the method.
Abstract:
A dental material dispensing device has a plunger means which for dispensing the dental material is movable for urging at least one component of a dental material toward a dispensing area. The device further has cure control means with an energy source and a flow path on which the dental composition and/or the dental material flows past the energy source during dispensation. The device is operable for exposing the dental composition and/or the dental material to a specific energy by control of the energy source and/or by control of the speed of the flow of the dental composition and/or the dental material on the flow path. The device is configured for dispensing a coherent strand of dental material in a dispensing cycle. The device is further configured for operating in a first dispensing mode and additionally in a second dispensing mode during the same dispensing cycle. The ratio between the specific energy in the second dispensing mode and the specific energy in the first dispensing mode is smaller than 1.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a syringe (10), preferably a single-fill syringe, for multi-component materials, comprising a mixer housing (12), a mixing element (14), a multi-component cartridge (18) and a mixing head (16), the mixing head being arranged at least partly within the mixer housing and adjacent to the multi-component cartridge, wherein the mixing head is arranged moveable in an axial direction of the syringe between at least two positions, the at least two positions comprising a sealed position and a dispensing position, wherein the axial movement of the mixing head is brought about by a rotation of at least a part of the mixer housing relative to the multi-component cartridge, and wherein the mixing head is axially displaced in a direction opposite to a dispensing direction on a displacement of the mixing head from the sealed position into the dispensing position. The invention further relates to a method of activating a syringe, to a mixing and dispensing apparatus and to a multi-component cartridge.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are a method of application of dental impression material into the sulcus of a patient and a dental dispenser, compris¬ ing: a cylinder having an outer sleeve (25), a cartridge (23), an extru¬ sion tip (16), a retainer cap (20), and an applicator tip (59), wherein the cylinder includes at least one plunger rod (4) therein that interacts with at least one barrel of the cartridge, wherein the cartridge is con¬ nected to the extrusion tip via a spur in the cartridge that locks into a hole (18) in the extrusion tip, and wherein the retainer cap (20) is se¬ cured to the sleeve such that no portion of the cartridge is dislocated from the extrusion tip under pressure necessary to extrude a dental material from the cartridge via the extrusion tip and applicator tip. A mixing tip and cartridge system are also disclosed herein, compris¬ ing: a cartridge having at least one barrel filled with a dental material, a mixing tip having an applicator tip (59) having a canula with a diam¬ eter of from about 0.4 mm to about 0.9 mm, wherein the cartridge is connected to the mixing tip via a spur in the cartridge that locks into a hole in the mixing tip, and wherein the applicator tip (59) is capable of fitting into the sulcus of a patient without causing trauma.
Abstract:
A device (100) for dispensing a dental material which comprises a spindle drive (10) for driving a piston (111) for extruding the dental material. The spindle drive (10) comprises a pair of threaded spindles and a clasp nut member (20) which is adapted for engaging with anyone of the spindles. The clasp nut member has first and second thread structures (11, 12) which are offset relative to each other by about 1/2 of the pitch of the thread of the spindle or the thread structures (11, 12) in a dimension of the pitch.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are a tissue management impression material and a method of application into the sulcus of a patient, whereby the tissue management impression material is a part of the final dental impression made when manufacturing a dental device, such as a crown.
Abstract:
A dental syringe (10) has a hollow elongated body (12) containing dental material (26). The body (12) has a removable end cap (16) and an axially rotatable member (20). The axially rotatable member (20) is attached to an externally threaded rod (34). The body (12) contains a non-rotatable piston (24) having a closed end (30) and an opposed open end (32). The piston (24) is inserted into the body (12) with the closed end (30) foremost. The piston (24) further comprises an axially extending recess (28) which is internally threaded. The threaded rod (34) is threadedly engaged with the recess (28). The axially rotatable member (20) may be rotated so as to cause the leading end (30) of the piston (24) to dispense dental material through the hollow body (12) after removal of the end cap (16).
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a device suitable for the delivery of dental materials, such as impression material. The device disclosed herein includes a cartridge that has at least two separate pouches and a spout.
Abstract:
A device for dispensing a dental material comprises a compartment (110, 111) for the dental material, a piston for extruding the dental material from the compartment, and a spindle drive (10) for moving the piston and the compartment relative to one another. The spindle drive (10) comprises first and second threads (14, 15) which are operable for moving the piston. The first thread (14) has a first pitch (PI) and the second thread (15) has a different second pitch (P2). The invention may provide a relatively inexpensive and reliable dental dispensing device.
