Abstract:
Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome ("SARS") is a human respiratory disease of recent origin, widespread infectivity, recurring incidence, and significant mortality. Although there is abundant evidence suggesting that the coronavirus responsible for the disease ("SARS-CoV") evolves during an outbreak, there is currently little data on the earliest strains of this coronavirus. The present invention is directed to the characterization of the genomic RNA sequences of these earliest SARS coronaviruses, to the identification of nucleotide positions within the SARS-CoV genomic RNA that are characteristic of the different evolutionary stages of the coronavirus, to kits based on these positions for use in diagnosis of the disease in patients, and for the development of vaccines to the disease based on the lowered virulence and contagiousness of these earliest strains of SARS-CoV.

The present invention relates to methods for treating cancers by manipulating a target gene expression by up-regulation, silencing and/or down-regulation of the gene, such as EGFR-RP, TRA1, MFGE8, TNFSF13 and ZFP236, respectively. The methods are useful in treating cancers and/or inhibiting tumor growth by enhancing expression of a gene that is validated as a target such as ICT1030, for protein, peptide drug and gene therapy modalities; or by RNA interference to silence and/or down-regulate targets such as ICT1024, ICT1025 and ICT1031 and ICB1003 that are validated for antibody, small molecule and other inhibitor drug modalities.

A storage array includes multiple wordlines of storage cells that can be selectively charged to an erase voltage or an inhibit voltage. Control logic associated with the storage array can perform erase verify in stages. On a first erase verify pass, the control logic can set wordlines of an erase block or subblock to a first erase voltage. On a second erase verify pass, the control logic can trigger a second erase verify pulse and set passing wordlines to an inhibit voltage, and failing wordlines to a second erase voltage higher than the first voltage. Inhibiting the already passing wordlines can reduce threshold voltage differences among the wordlines.

An extension to the motion-constrained tile sets SEI message provides functionality to signal all tiles are independently decodable and to signal the ROIs that may have more than one tile per ROI. With this extension, the functionality to redefine any independently decodable region-of-interest in a CVS at a coding tree unit level based on user interactivity is enabled. The extension supports the interactivity utilized in various applications such as interactive Ultra High Definition Television (UHDTV), dynamic high-quality zoom-in application, interactive on-demand, e-learning, smart surveillance and many other applications. Additionally, the temporal MCTS SEI message is able to be used by an encoder for tiled streaming to signal explicitly to the decoder that the decoder need only to display the ROI.

Specifically, the present invention relates to the optimization of the layout of each layer of toll lanes in a multi-layered highway toll station. Adjustment of the barrier configurations between each toll area allows for: the prompt creation of a new temporary high-speed lane when an accident occurs in a high-speed lane; and a temporary change to the direction in which tolls are collected in some toll areas, so as to adapt to heavy traffic flows.

Conventional freeway toll stations are usually single-layered, and cannot allocate too many toll booths in a row. This invention is intended to accommodate enough toll booths within limited space in order to increase the capacity of a toll station. The solution is a multi-layered toll station, wherein 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10 booth clusters are included in each direction, and these booth clusters are connected by straight or S-shaped barriers at the opposite ends. Toll booths in each booth cluster share same entrance passage and same exit passage. The barriers are adjustable, so that the direction of a part of or a whole cluster can be reversed.
