Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a reduced-capability user equipment (RedCap UE) may transmit, to a base station, capability information indicating reduced capabilities of the RedCap UE associated with conducting half-duplex frequency division duplex (HD-FDD) communication. The RedCap UE may receive, from the base station, HD-FDD configuration information for conducting the HD-FDD communication with the base station, the HD-FDD configuration information being based at least in part on the capability information. The RedCap UE may communicate, by transmitting data or receiving data during the HD-FDD communication, based at least in part on the HD-FDD configuration information. Abstract: Aspects presented herein may enable reduced capability UEs to support certain type of services with strict delay but limited throughput, while less parallel hardware or computational resources may be used by the reduced capability UEs. In one aspect, a UE reports, to a base station, N UE capabilities for N groups of TBS, where N is an integer number greater than 1, and a first UE capability is reported for a first TBS group and a second UE capability is reported for a second TBS group. Then the UE receives downlink communication having a TBS from the base station. Then the UE processes the downlink communication from the base station based on a UE capability from the N UE capabilities corresponding to the TBS.

Abstract: In one aspect, a method of wireless communication includes receiving, by a user equipment (UE), a periodic transmission according to a first BWP configuration in a first slot, the first BWP configuration having a first active BWP. The method also includes receiving, by the UE, a downlink control information (DCI) indicating a BWP switching trigger for a non-periodic transmission in a second slot. The method includes determining, by the UE, a second BWP configuration based on the BWP switching trigger, the second BWP configuration having a second active BWP, wherein the first active BWP has a same subcarrier spacing but a different frequency location as the second active BWP. The method further includes receiving, by the UE, the non-periodic transmission according to the second BWP configuration during the second slot. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may identify a slot format configuration, such as a time division duplex (TDD) slot format configuration, and one or more downlink repetition configurations corresponding to a number of downlink repetitions for a user equipment (UE). The base station may transmit the configurations to the UE. The UE may determine that the number of downlink repetitions and the configured slot format satisfy, or fail to satisfy, a validation rule for monitoring the number of downlink repetitions. The UE may monitor, or refrain from monitoring, the number of repetitions based on whether the validation rule is satisfied.

The set of control and data channels may include uplink control and data channels and downlink control and data channels.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for transmitting multiple repetitions of a random access shared channel message in multiple slots using beamformed wireless communications. A UE may determine transmission slots for one or more of the multiple repetitions of a random access shared channel message based on slots associated with random access occasions (ROs) that are mapped to an identified synchronization signal block (SSB), such as a SSB associated with a beam that is selected for communications by the UE. In cases where slots with ROs mapped to the identified SSB are not consecutively located, one or more slot offsets may be provided for transmitting the multiple repetitions of the random access shared channel message. Slot offsets may be explicitly indicated by a base station in a random access response message, or may be determined by the UE based on a mapping of SSBs to ROs.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques relate to an early indication, from a base station to a user equipment (UE), that may allow the UE to determine from the first symbol of a synchronization signal block (SSB) if the system information associated with the SSB is intended for the UE. Thus, when the UE receives the indication that the system information is dedicated to the UE, the UE may determine to receive and decode the remaining synchronization signal block, a master information block, a set of control resources, a downlink control channel, and a downlink shared channel to receive the system information. In some cases, the UE may determine that the system information is generic and end decoding during reception of the SSB to conserve computational resources by avoiding unnecessary decoding.
