Abstract:
The invention relates to a cosmetic composition, especially for use on aging and/or stressed skin, the composition comprising, in addition to water, at least one substance that forms lamellar structures with water. The composition further comprises (a) at least one compound that contains a functional group of the general formula (I) - CH2 - N - (CH3)3; (b) and/or at least one metabolite of said compound; (c) and/or S-adenosylmethionine.
Abstract:
A cosmetic hair or skin care agent comprising a continuous, transparent, clear or opaque, highly-viscous gel outer phase (A) and a homogeneous inner phase (B) containing a perfume oil and which can be seen through said outer phase (A), being arranged in a regular manner. Phases (A) and (B) do not automatically mix with each other during a period of contact of at least 3 months at 30 DEG C. The inventive separation of perfume oil and carrier substances and the dosed addition of the perfume oil which is contained in the inner phase to the final product just before application in accordance with the prescribed application results in olfactory stability of said perfume oil during storage and a strong fragrance on the skin and hair.
Abstract:
The invention concerns the use of dehydroepiandrosterone and/or at least one of the precursors or derivatives thereof in or for preparing a composition for topical application on the skin, as agent designed to prevent or reduce the papery appearance of the skin.
Abstract:
The present disclosure describes subtilisin proteases comprising an intramolecular cross-link, wherein the intramolecular cross-link comprises a covalent linkage between an amino acid of a first residue of the protease and an amino acid of a second residue of the protease. The protease have decreased immunogenicity relative to a parent protease. Accordingly, such proteases are suitable for use in several types of compositions including, but not limite to, laundry, dishes, hard surface, skin care, hair care, beauty care, oral care, and contact lens compositions.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to novel collagen products, methods for producing same, and to a novel test for assessing native collagen content of a protein solution. Particular collagen products are extracted from the skin of cold water fish. The collagen products comprise a high proportion of native collagen and are suitable for use as fining agents in the brewing and wine industries.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a cosmetic product that contains enzymes and has an intensive skin action, especially a regenerative effect. The inventive cosmetic product contains 0.01 to 5 wt. % of a concentrate of the coconut milk of Cocos nucifera , containing peroxidase, lipase and protease; 0.1 to 10 wt. % of a plant milkwater, the plants being selected from the following group: banana, dandelion, convolvus, poppy, soya and mixtures thereof; and 0.01 to 5 wt. % of a glycerol extract of a mixture consisting of honey, rice hulls, rice hull oil and/or rice germ oil; with the remainder consisting of cosmetic auxiliary agents, active agents and carrier substances.
Abstract:
A cosmetic composition suitable for topical application to the skin or hair comprising: (a) a protease enzyme, or mixtures thereof; and (b) from about 2 % to about 45 % by weight of an emulsifier which is capable of forming liquid crystals in water and comprises a mixture of at least one emulsifier having a high HLB and at least one emulsifier having a low HLB, with a melting point of at least 45 DEG C, the ratio of low HLB emulsifier to high HLB emulsifier being from about 10:1 to about 100:1. The compositions of the invention display high enzyme stability, and the products comprising same have high moisturisation efficacy, as well as good rheological and absorption properties, in addition to skin feel, skin softness and skin smoothness benefits.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the uses in cosmetics or pharmaceuticals of at least one active agent for increasing the expression and/or functionality of CD44 membrane receptors of skin cells, enabling the fixation of hyaluronic acid and/or colagen, especially collage I and/or collagen IV and/or fibronectin on the surface of said skin cells. Preferably, said active agents are alpha hydroxyl acids or alpha ceto acids or salts and esters of said acids or manganese chloride. The inventive cosmetic or pharmaceutical compositions improve fixation of hyaluronic acid and/or collagen, especially collagen I or collagen IV and/or fibronectin on the surface of skin cells and improve hydration of the dermis and epidermis and prevent or treat skin-ageing phenomena and inflammatory phenomena.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method using the following ingredients: solar salt mixed with bioactive agents, and ancient, fossilized sea crystals. Said fossilized crystals, existing in the form of liquid crystals, transport and guide the bioactive agents contained therein in a specific direction, thereby improving the penetration thereof into the skin from a quantitative viewpoint. According to the invention, it is possible to improve the biological activity of the composition and increase the efficiency thereof when used.
Abstract:
A microorganism characterized by producing a lipid constituted by unsaturated fatty acids and secreting outside the cells the thus produced lipid in the form of lipid balls having the lipid encapsulated therein; a method for screening this microorganism; a process for efficiently producing the lipid containing the unsaturated fatty acids by using this microorganism; lipid balls having the lipid containing the unsaturated fatty acids encapsulated therein; and foods, cosmetics and animal feeds containing these lipid balls. Artificially treated microorganisms or microorganisms collected from nature are grown in a solid medium and a strain forming lipid balls around its colonies is selected, and/or grown in a transparent liquid medium and a strain causing cloudiness in the culture medium is selected. The thus obtained microorganism is cultured and the lipid balls having the secreted lipid are separated from the culture medium followed by the separation and purification of the lipid.
