A method of forming a retreaded tire is provided. The method includes coupling a retread element to a tire casing to form a retreaded tire having a tread surface and machining a sidewall of the retreaded tire. The sidewall of the retreaded tire is then machined, where machining the sidewall of the retreaded tire includes removing a portion of the sidewall to form a concave fillet in the sidewall. The concave fillet is positioned radially inward from the tread surface.

The device (1) for the controlled wear of treads is adapted to wear at least one tread (2) of at least one tire (3) during the rotation of the latter around at least one axis of rotation (A), simulating wear on the road, and comprises: - at least one supporting body (4); - at least one movable body (5) coupled longitudinally in a movable manner along a rectilinear shock-absorbing direction (B), moving closer to and away from the tread (2), to the supporting body (4); - at least one wear tool (6), mounted on the movable body (5) and arranged, in use, to contact the tread (2) in order to wear it; - shock-absorbing means (7), positioned between the movable body (5) and the supporting body (4) and adapted to move the movable body (5) with respect to the supporting body (4) along the shock-absorbing direction (B) closer to and away from the tread (2) respectively, when the wear tool (6) encounters a depression (8) and a relief (9) of the tread (2), keeping the wear tool (6) in contact under pressure with the tread (2).

The present invention relates to a method for constructing the tread of a tyre, comprising of: a) arranging a plurality of layers of uncured rubber with a layer thickness per layer of between 30 and 500 pm on a base (20); b) removing material from the layers for the purpose of arranging a predetermined pattern; and c) at least partially separately curing each layer. The present invention also relates to a device to perform said method and to an uncured rubber strip, suitable for use in said method.

The present invention relates to a method for retreading tires for heavy-duty vehicles, which will find application in the transport industry and in particular in retreading the tires of various types of vehicles. The created method, in addition to the operations of the known methods of retreading, includes an operation that solves the main problem, namely: removal of residual air between the diaphragm and the tire by placing a textile tape between them. The textile strips remain between the diaphragm and the tire during its firing and thus all the air is removed due to the temperature expansions. This ensures that the diaphragm is constantly pressed over its entire surface against the inside of the tire. In addition, the problem of poor compression and adhesion of the applied patches is overcome and they are vulcanized over their entire area. When the air, which expands when heated, is removed, then it does not damage the carcass and thus it remains serviceable.

An assembly (10) for positioning sensors within a tire is provided that has first and second bead sensors (14,16), and first and second sidewall/shoulder sensors (18, 20). A first actuator (30) moves the sensors in a radial direction of the tire, and a second actuator (32) moves the first and second bead sensors in the axial direction of the tire. A third actuator (34) is present and moves the first and second bead sensors in the axial direction relative to the first and second sidewall/shoulder sensors. A fourth actuator (36) moves the first and second bead sensors in the axial direction relative to one another, and a fifth actuator (38) moves the first and second sidewall/shoulder sensors in the axial direction relative to one another.

Systems and methods of buffing tire casings are provided. A tire buffing machine includes a tire hub assembly selectively rotating a mounted casing, a buffer configured to buff the casing, a tire belt detection apparatus having two or more sensors to detect a first belt depth of one or more belts at a first lateral position in a tire casing and a second belt depth of the one or more belts at a second lateral position within the tire casing, and an electronic controller. The controller determines the first belt depth and the second belt depth using a belt detection apparatus having two or more sensors of the belt detection apparatus and adjusts the operation of the buffer based on the first belt depth or the second belt depth.

Méthode de préparation d'un ensemble monté adapté pour être monté sur un véhicule automobile, comprenant les étapes suivantes : - une étape (301) d'affichage sur un module utilisateur d'une ou plusieurs bandes de roulement adaptées au véhicule; - une étape (302) de sélection d'une bande de roulement à fabriquer; - une étape (303) d'envoi de la sélection de la bande de roulement à fabriquer à un système de fabrication adapté pour mettre en place l'ensemble monté selon les caractéristiques de la bande de roulement sélectionnée, la fabrication de ladite bande de roulement étant effectuée directement sur l'ensemble monté, monté sur le véhicule. La présente invention concerne aussi un procédé de navigation routière pour véhicule à l'aide d'un système naviagtion comportant une étape de sélection d'une bande de roulement.

A sculptured drum for a retread process that has an inner radial section with a central axis that extends in an axial direction. The sculptured drum has a plurality of support members that extend outward from a drum outer surface in a radial direction and that are located outward from the inner radial section in the radial direction. A tread that has a plurality of grooves is supported by the sculptured drum during a brushing process and pass across the sculptured drum such that some but not all of the grooves have one of the support members disposed therein. The support members when disposed within the grooves do not completely fill the grooves, and when disposed within the grooves engage a lower surface of the tread.
