Abstract:
Connector assemblies having cantilevered contact beams arranged in one or more arrays of terminals have their terminals fixed in place at a first point within insulative connector body portions. The terminals are fixed together by one or more support members within a hollow shroud, at a second point spaced apart from the first point. The present invention pertains to means for fixing the terminals and their support member to the outer shroud. In one embodiment, the shroud is square and has a series of slots formed in two opposing sidewalls. A key member has a plurality of biasing arms, or fingers that extend into the slots and into contact with the terminal support members. In a second embodiment of the inventions, the shroud is provided with a plurality of channels formed on the inner surfaces of two opposing sidewalls thereof. A retainer key is provided with a plurality of hook ends for engaging the shroud and spring arms that extend through openings into the shroud channels up against the ends of the support bar.
Abstract:
An electrical connector for terminating a shielded cable and connecting the cable to regularly arranged contact pins. The connector includes a connector body formed from an insulative material. The connector body has an upper surface and an opposing lower surface defined by a front edge, a back edge and two longitudinal side edges. The upper surface includes a plurality of longitudinal channels adapted to receive a plurality of socket contacts. A planar conductive ground plate engages the bottom surface of the connector body and extends across each of the plurality of socket contacts to establish a ground plane across the entire connector. A cover member encloses the longitudinal channels and socket contacts. A plurality of individual connectors may be stacked together and retained in a stack by a removable retaining rod.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a connecting device for connecting an electrical cable (2) to an electrical device. Said electrical cable (2) is connected to a plug connector (3), especially a plug connector with an RJ-45 plug configuration; for plugging into a corresponding socket of the electrical device. The inventive connecting device (1) ensures that the electrical cable (2) and the plug connector (3) are protected from mechanical damage. Said connecting device (1) is also easy to assemble. The electrical cable (2) can be introduced into a housing together with the plug connector (3) and maintained therein in this introduced state, and the electrical cable (2) or the plug connector (3) that is connected to the electrical cable (2) can be fixed to the socket or to the electrical device by means of snap-in elements (4) which are located on the housing.
Abstract:
An inline electrical connector includes a first housing shell (100) and a second housing shell (170). The first housing shell has a cable entrance section (115) and a planar mating section (105) that includes a plurality of electrical connectors (125). The second housing shell also has a cable entrance section (177) and a planar mating section (173) that has a plurality of electrical connectors (181). The second housing shell (170) can be mated with the first housing shell (100) by overlapping engagement of the planar mating sections (105, 173). The electrical connectors (125) on the first housing shell (100) are configured to mate with the electrical connectors (181) on the second housing shell (170) when the second housing shell (170) is mated with the first housing shell (100).

Abstract:
Two-piece shroud (32, 50) for fixing to a back panel (14) about an aperture (16) therethrough provides latching and aligning means for a mating connector (24) received by a bulkhead connector (2) mounted on the opposite side of the panel (14). Latches (37) are provided on cantilever sidewalls (36) which pivot about axes aprallel to the direction of insertion of the mating connector (24).
