Abstract:
A connector insert arrangement, an active optical cable and methods are described. The connector insert is receivable in a connector housing for removable engagement with a complementary connector. Dielectric inserts each support one or more electrical contacts for access by the complementary connector and each electrical contact is selected as one of a contact pad and a spring probe pin for electrical contact with a complementary spring probe pin and complementary contact pad, respectively, in the complementary connector. A ground body supports the dielectric inserts to maintain a characteristic transmission line impedance along each of a plurality of high speed data paths such that each high speed data path serves as an independent transmission line structure that provides a data transfer rate of at least 1 gigabit per second. An active optical cable is described that can be hermaphroditic.

In a composite component having a laminate body, a conductive layer and a connector can be joined to one another using an intermediate flexible circuit. Among other things, this flexible circuit places the conductive layer and the connector in electrical communication with one another. Furthermore, during the forming process and because of its thinness, the flexible circuit integrates well with the layers of the laminate body and can accommodates some spatial displacement of the connector and conductive material relative to one another.
Abstract:
A high density electrical interconnect is disclosed that uses a bayonet action to mate a plug having a plurality of contacts to receptacle having a plurality of spring contacts. The plurality of contacts may be a plurality of pin contacts, printed circuit board traces, or flexible film contacts. The spring contacts are preloaded to reduce the insertion force required to mate the plug and receptacle.
Abstract:
An inventory control system (2), comprising a blister pack (4) having a pierceable sheet that includes a plurality of printed circuits overlying each of the compartments (24) of the blister pack (4). The printed circuits are in electrical communication with a connector assembly (6), the connector assembly (6) being in electrical communication with a removable header (8). The header (8) is in communication with a microprocessor controlled device having a memory (10); wherein the microprocessor controlled device (10) determines the contents of the blister pack (4). The blister pack (4) and connector assembly (6) are removed from the substantially fixed header (8) so the contents can be distributed. As the contents are distributed from the blister pack (4), the printed circuits are broken. When the connector assembly (6) is reattached to the blister pack (4), electrical signals transmitted through the connector assembly (6) and the blister pack (4) determines the number of broken circuits, indicative of the contents of the blister pack (4). The connector assembly (6) is a reusable device that includes a board that provides for electrical communication between the header (8) and the blister pack (4) and also facilitates assembly and removal of the connector (6) to the header (8).

Anschluss- und Verbindungsdose für ein photovoltaisches Solarmodul mit flexiblen Flachleiterbändern, die aus der Oberfläche des Solarmoduls herausragen, wobei die Anschluss- und Verbindungsdose an ihrer im montierten Zustand dem Solarmodul zugewandten Seite eine Einführöffnung für zumindest ein flexibles Flachleiterband des Solarmoduls aufweist und ein Gehäuse zum Aufsetzen auf das Solarmodul und eine in dem Gehäuse angeordnete Anschlussvorrichtung für das flexible Flachleiterband umfasst, die Anschlussvorrichtung einen Umlenkhebel und eine elektrische Kontaktklemme aufweist, welche beim Aufsetzen der Dose auf das Solarmodul betätigt werden, um das Flachleiterband umzubiegen und zu kontaktieren.

There is described a heating tape structure and a method of forming the same. The heating tape structure includes a base film strip (12) that is typically elongated and includes strips (16) of conductive material extending adjacent sides of the base film strip (12). The heating tape can be formed by providing the base film strip (12) to an automated system and layering the strips (16) of conductive material thereon.
