Abstract:
A method is implemented for the distribution of medical reports (101; 201 ) from a data processing system (100; 200) to one or more connected addressees (102; 202) and their distribution channels (103; 203), and consists in: - automatically determining the distribution channel (103; 203) and format (107; 207) in function of an order (104; 204) and of configured distribution rules (105; 205) and format rules (106; 206); - converting the medical report (101; 201 ) to the correct distribution format (107; 207); and - automatically distributing the converted medical report (108; 208) to the distribution channel (103; 203).
Abstract:
A system able to pre-fetch in a medical imaging and archiving platform a subset of comparison medical studies (120) in relation to an active medical study (110) comprises: - a medical study database (103) to store medical studies; - a relevancy rule database (101) to store relevancy rules that express relevancy of a comparison medical study in view of an active medical study; - a relevancy rule manager (104) enabling to define the relevancy rules; and - a relevancy rule engine (102) to select for the active medical study (110) applicable relevancy rules from the relevancy rule database (101), and to apply the selected relevancy rules to pre-fetch the subset of comparison medical studies (120). The relevancy rules comprise enhanced relevancy rules using contextual information stored in a medical report, an order or procedure information that forms part of the medical studies.
Abstract:
A method for workflow management in a medical workflow management system wherein a first user logs in to the workflow management system running a desktop application and next identifies an additional, not logged-in user and defines at least one task of the workflow for this additional user. Selection of an additional user and defined task(s) triggers the workflow management system to associate the defined task(s) of the workflow with the additional user.
Abstract:
A method for processing a frame in a sequence of successively acquired frames in dynamic digital radiography wherein the multi- scale representation of frames is subjected to temporal filtering by adding at least one correction image to a corresponding detail image (s) in the multi-scale representations of a frame of interest, the correction image being computed by combining clipped difference images obtained as the difference between the multi-scale representation of the frame of interest and the multi-scale representations of a selection of other frames in said sequence.
Abstract:
A wireless direct radiographic panel is used in a medical imaging system comprising multiple radiographic exposure units, each with different wireless settings, the wireless settings of the panel being adapted by moving the panel from one exposure unit to another. The adaptation of the wireless settings is occasioned by an information exchange occurring by moving an NFC tag installed on the panel within the operating range of an NFC tag installed on the workstation of the exposure unit wherein the wireless direct radiographic panel will be used.
Abstract:
In a medical imaging system wherein medical images and reports are archived, a computer-implemented method comprising the steps of: - detecting that a radiologist (106a) starts reading a study on a patient (101a); - automatically generating and sending to the patient (101a) a first notification message (115b, 115c; 401) indicating that the radiologist (106a) started reading the study, the first notification message (115b, 115c; 401) comprising a link (411, 412) enabling the patient (101 a) to query status information (402) on the study; - detecting that the radiologist (106a) finalized his report on the study; and - automatically generating and sending to the patient (101a) a second notification message (118b, 118c; 403) indicating that the report is finalized, the second notification message (118b, 118c; 403) comprising a link (431, 432; 442) to the report (405).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method and an according apparatus and system for reliably identifying a specific part of a spine, in particular a specific vertebra, in an image, in particular a computed tomography (CT) image, of a human or animal body, comprising the following steps: a) determining one or more parts, in particular vertebrae, of the spine in the image, b) determining one or more discriminative parameters for each of said parts of the spine in the image, wherein the discriminative parameters relate to at least one anatomical property of each of said parts of the spine, c) classifying the discriminative parameters of said parts of the spine in the image and d) identifying said specific part of the spine based on the classification of the discriminative parameters of said parts of the spine in the image. An accordingly identified vertebra, in particular the T12 vertebra and/or its associated intervertebral discs, can be used advantageously as a starting point of powerful automatic spine labeling algorithms.
Abstract:
There is provided a method of operating a data processing system (1) for managing measurements on medical images. This method automatically updates measurement information (30) in a draft medical report (40) when the measurement (10) on the medical image (20) is modified.
Abstract:
A system for creating a semantic data warehouse comprising a convergence service for executing queries to connected data sources, converting data from source to domain semantics and aggregating converted data characterized in that - said convergence service is invoked by an entity graph service that on demand - defines a semantic entity representation, the needed queries and data sources to be queried and - projects and makes available the resulting data in said semantic entity representation.
Abstract:
A statistical analysis is performed on pixel values of at least one region of interest in an image obtained by substantially uniform irradiation of an x-ray detector and deciding upon the presence of source of x-ray beam in-homogeneity by comparing the results of the statistical analysis with at least one predetermined acceptance criterion.
