Abstract:
Methods of inhibiting corrosion in a benzene distillation or dryer unit are provided wherein alkenyl succinic acids or anhydrides (ASA) are brought into contact with metal surfaces thereby protecting the metal from an acidic corrosive medium flowing through the overhead. The benzene distillation column or drying tower may be utilized to purify benzene for subsequent feed of the purified benzene to an alkylation process such as in the alkylation of benzene by ethene to form ethylbenzene utilizing a zeolite alkylation catalyst.
Abstract:
A novel mixture composition comprising various aliphatic dicarboxylic acids is provided. Further, a composition comprising the aliphatic dicarboxylic acid mixture composition, water and at least one water-soluble organic amine is provided. Further, a method for inhibiting corrosion of metal surfaces comprising contacting the metal with the composition comprising the aliphatic dicarboxylic acid mixture composition as above, water and at least one water-soluble organic amine is provided.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention relates to process to reduce the corrosion of equipment containing a chromium-containing alloy in the oil and/or gas industry, comprising a step of contacting the equipment based on a chromium-containing alloy with a solution containing at least 1 wt% on total weight of the solution of glutamic acid Ν,Ν-diacetic acid or a salt thereof (GLDA) and/or methylglycine Ν,Ν-diacetic acid or a salt thereof (MGDA) having an acidic pH, the use of the above solutions in equipment containing a chromium-containing alloy to reduce corrosion, and to a system containing a piece of equipment used in the oil and/or gas industry made at least partly from chromium-containing alloy in contact with an acidic solution containing at least 1 wt% of glutamic acid N,N-di acetic acid or a salt thereof (GLDA) and/or methylglycine N,N-di acetic acid or a salt thereof (MGDA).
Abstract:
The invention relates to corrosion inhibitor compositions comprising products of a reaction between aldehydes and amides for use in subterranean applications and methods related thereto. In general, the methods for inhibiting corrosion comprise providing a corrosive environment and adding a composition comprising a corrosion inhibitor to the corrosive environment. The corrosion inhibitor comprises a product of a reaction between at least one aldehyde and at least one amide that is not formamide or a formamide derivative.
Abstract:
The invention provides a composition comprising a corrosion inhibitor, and a corrosion inhibitor intensifier composition comprising an intensifier compound that corresponds to the following formula (I): wherein R 1 is a methyl or ethyl group, and R 2 is H or an alkyl, aryl, alkyl aryl, alkylthio aryl, alkyloxy aryl, halogenated aryl, phenyl, alkyl phenyl, alkylthio phenyl, alkyloxyphenyl, or a halogenated phenyl group. The invention also provides a method comprising: contacting a metal surface with an acidic fluid comprising an aqueous base-fluid, an acid, and the corrosion inhibitor composition.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a methods, products and uses for inhibiting corrosion. A provided method comprises the steps of: a) subjecting cellulosic biomass to hydrolysis to obtain a hydrolysate liquid; b) optionally, subjecting the hydrolysate liquid from step a) to one or more of the steps of further hydrolysis, fermentation and/or distillation;and c) using the hydrolysate liquid from step a) or b) to inhibit corrosion.
Abstract:
A composition for providing acid resistance to copper surfaces in the production of multilayered printed circuit boards. The composition comprises an acid, an oxidizer, a five-membered heterocyclic compound and a thiophosphate or a phosphorous sulfide compound. In a preferred embodiment, the phosphorous compound is phosphorus pentasulfide. The composition is applied to a copper or copper alloy substrate and the copper substrate is thereafter bonded to a polymeric material.
