Abstract: The disclosed technology relates generally to welding technologies and more particularly to electrode assemblies for arc welding, e.g., submerged arc welding. In one aspect, an electrode assembly for submerged arc welding (SAW), the electrode assembly comprising a head portion comprising a contact nozzle and an extension portion removably and serially attached to the contact nozzle and disposed to be proximal to an arcing tip of a consumable electrode relative to the contact nozzle. The extension portion comprises a ceramic sleeve configured to slidingly feed the consumable electrode therethrough, and a pair of metallic sheaths covering opposing ends of the ceramic sleeve.

Abstract: Techniques for managing encoded communications for medical devices in a clinical environment are provided. Different versions of signal coding libraries are generated for different devices in a communication path. A first signal coding library may be generated using a first signal definition that includes a set of fields. A second signal coding library may be generated using a second signal definition that includes a subset of the fields of the first signal definition, and excludes one or more of the fields of the first signal definition. A message encoded using the first signal coding library may not be completely decodable using the second signal coding library. By selectively deploying the signal coding libraries to different systems, devices, and components in a clinical environment, access to information in message fields can be effectively managed.

Abstract: A wearable device configured to secure to skin of a user and noninvasively measure body temperature of the user can include first and second pairs of temperature sensors configured to generate one or more signals responsive to detected thermal energy, a thermally conductive element positioned at least partially between the second pair of temperature sensors, and one or more hardware processors configured to receive the one or more signals generated by each of said first and second pairs of temperature sensors and determine one or more body temperature values of the user based on at least comparisons between different ones of the first and second pairs of temperature sensors. In some implementations, the wearable device includes thermally conductive probes for transmitting thermal energy toward ones of the first and second pairs of temperature sensors and a substrate positioned between the probes and the skin.

Abstract: A power distribution assembly includes a mounting system and a power distribution unit. The mounting system has a frame rail interface disposed along lateral sides of the power distribution assembly. The power distribution unit has a housing and a cable junction disposed on an exterior of the housing. The housing has an upper portion coupled with the frame rail interface and a lower portion disposed below the mounting system. The power distribution unit has one or more fuses, a contactor, and a charge circuit disposed in the housing. The lower portion of the housing has an access panel accessible from beneath a vehicle to which the power distribution assembly is coupled. Such access may be gained by removing a debris deflector and the housing. The power distribution assembly can be electrically coupled with a battery assembly and a charge inlet assembly, which can be coupled to the battery assembly.

Abstract: A wearable device configured to monitor physiological parameters of a wearer can include: a physiological parameter measurement sensor configured to monitor a plurality of physiological parameters; a hardware processor; a display in communication with the processor; and a band configured to secure the physiological parameter measurement sensor on a wrist of the wearer. In some implementations, the hardware processor is configured to: obtain a first plurality of signals from the physiological parameter measurement sensor when the band is secured on the wrist at a first tightness; determine a signal quality responsive to the first plurality of signals; and output an indication on the display to adjust tightness of the band with respect to the wrist from the first tightness to a second tightness based on the determined signal quality.
