Abstract:
An imaging system that is configured to automatically obtain and provide two and three-dimensional digital images of various types of objects (e.g., tissue specimens, animals, electrical devices, etc.) for use in analysis thereof in a manner free of manual repositioning of the objects between images and free of movement of an electromagnetic radiation source and detector within or relative to a cabinet housing of the system.
Abstract:
Methods and means for the automated manufacturing of linear permanent magnet (PM) arrays in rows. A convergence device may be used that restricts movement of PM elements from PM cartridges as the PM elements are formed into PM array rows. The PM elements may be brought nearer as the PM elements travel through the convergence device while being restricted from magnetically aligning by flipping, translation, or other uncontrolled motion. Various means for movement of the PM elements through the convergence device are described as well as use of saturation bars and other means of securing PM array rows into a PM array.
Abstract:
A system (1000) is disclosed including a resource allocation optimization (RAO) platform (1002) for optimizing the allocation of resources in network (1004) for delivery of assets to user equipment devices (UEDs) (1012). The RAO platform (1002) determines probabilities that certain asset delivery opportunities (ADOs) will occur within a selected time window and uses these probabilities together with information concerning values of asset delivery to determine an optimal use of asset deliveries. In this regard, the RAO platform (1004) received historical data from repository (1014) that facilitates calculation of probabilities that ADOs will occur. Such information may be compiled based on asset delivery records for similar network environments in the recent past or over time.
Abstract:
Drill bit guide assemblies related to surgical operations for guiding and stabilizing a drill bit. A guide member houses a fixed bore through which a drill bit may pass. The guide member may also house a bore selection member which houses a plurality of selectable bores. The selectable bores may have a variety of diameters such that a user may choose the selectable bore corresponding to the drill bit diameter being used and align that selectable bore with the fixed bore such that the drill bit may pass through the length of the assembly along the reference axis. The similar diameters of the selectable bore and the drill bit may cause the assembly to stabilize and guide the drill bit.
Abstract:
A method for solving the initial azimuth for a survey instrument, and other devices, with position and tilt information. The method may be part of bundle adjustment performed during the processing of image and position data collected from each camera of a survey instrument. The use of the initial azimuth generation method (and initial azimuth generator) makes it possible to get accurate azimuth orientation of a camera, such as each camera of a multi-camera survey instrument, without using data from a compass-like sensor. The initial azimuth generated by this method can then be used in later steps/processes of the bundle adjustment to find tie-points with an automatic tie-point finder. Prior to this method, the automatic tie-point finding algorithm relied on the compass and its accuracy, and inaccurate compass values would cause a complete failure, slow runtimes, or less accurate results for the bundle adjustment.
Abstract:
A urine collection apparatus and monitoring device is provided. The urine collection apparatus includes a collection reservoir and a diverter for controlling flow of urine to a first passageway in a first position and to a second passageway in a second position, wherein the first passageway is fluidly interconnected to the collection reservoir. The urine collection apparatus may include a cartridge having an internal chamber and inlet and outlet members, wherein the inlet member is selectively, fluidly interconnectable to the second passageway, and wherein the outlet member is selectively, fluidly interconnectable to the collection reservoir. The monitoring device is interconnectable with the cartridge and monitors a volume of urine collected. The cartridge may be received within the monitoring device. The monitoring device may include a light source for emitting a light signal and a light detector array for detecting the light signal and outputting signals to determine urine volume.
Abstract:
Synchronization of a time base at a local clock to a reference time. Initially, correction data (e.g., synchronization data) may be derived from packet data received over an asynchronous packet-switched network (e.g., the internet). Correction data derived from the packet data may be used to correct at least a portion of the time base (e.g., a frequency component). In turn, once the time base is corrected (e.g., to better than a predetermined quality threshold), the source of synchronization data may change to an alternate (e.g., more accurate source) such as positioning signals from a positioning system. In this regard, the corrected time base may be used to assist in acquiring such positioning signals to allow for higher accuracy correction. Furthermore, use of the positioning system may allow for correction of a phase of the time base (e.g., to align the phase to the positioning system. In turn, an accurate time base may be utilized (e.g., for location determination using the positioning system) and/or other contexts such as a downstream communication operation. For instance, a device employing the synchronization techniques described herein may be an LTE base station used to facilitate downstream communication with another device by use of the synchronized time base.
Abstract:
Automated healthcare information exchange. The healthcare information may comprise one or more dose orders corresponding to dose medications to be administered to a patient. The healthcare information may be received (e.g., from an EMR system such as a hospital information system (HIS) or the like) in the form of a healthcare information data stream. The information may then be standardized in to a standardized intermediate form. For instance, data may be parsed from the data stream and used to populate a staging table. In turn, data from the staging table may be transformed into an input format specific to a given dose fulfillment client to which the dose order is provided for fulfillment of the dose. Additionally, exception processing. logistical processing, and management functionality may be applied to the dose orders.
Abstract:
A method of docking and recharging using a base station and a station-mating frame on the multicopter. The base station includes an upward-facing camera that is used by a docking controller to detect the presence, position, and orientation of a frame, with infrared light-emitting diodes arranged in a predefined pattern. The controller of the base station acts to emit wireless signals to the multicopter to guide the multicopter with its station-mating frame to a predefined position above the base station. The controller transmits a wireless signal to the multicopter to reduce thrust, and the multicopter lowers itself onto a sloped receiving surface that may be arranged in a crown pattern to provide passive gravity-driven centering, which causes the station-mating frame to slide to a lowest vertical point of the receiving assembly. A locking mechanism engages to lock the frame in place and provide electrical contact for recharging.
Abstract:
A fantasy sports gaming system (10) is disclosed that includes a substitution module (22) that may be used for short-term fantasy sports contests (52), such as what is referred to as daily leagues and the like. This substitution module (22) generally allows a fantasy sports contestant (54) to substitute one fantasy sports player (58) for another fantasy sports player (58) that is already in his/her lineup (56) for the fantasy sports contest (52). The substitution module (22) may utilize a substitution assessment protocol (100) to assess the validity of a substitution request (60). That is, the fantasy sports gaming system (10) may be configured such that not all substitution requests (60) will be allowed.
