Abstract:
Method for active data storage management to optimize use of an electronic memory. The method includes providing signal injections for data storage. The signal injections can include various types of data and sizes of data files. Response signals corresponding with the signal injections are received, and a utility of those signals is measured. Based upon the utility of the response signals, parameters relating to storage of the data is modified to optimize use of long-term high latency passive data storage and short-term low latency active data storage.

A display film includes a transparent polymeric substrate layer and a transparent aliphatic cross-linked polyurethane layer disposed on the transparent polymeric substrate layer. The transparent aliphatic cross-linked polyurethane layer has a glass transition temperature in a range from 11 to 27 degrees Celsius and a Tan Delta peak value in a range from 0.5 to 2.5. The display film has a haze value of 1% or less.

An optical construction includes a reflective polarizer layer having a first pass axis and an absorptive polarizer layer having a second pass axis that is substantially aligned with the first pass axis. At least one electrically conductive light scattering layer is arranged between the reflective polarizer layer and the absorptive polarizer layer.
Abstract:
Methods for estimating and predicting tooth wear based upon a single 3D digital model of teeth. The 3D digital model is segmented to identify individual teeth within the model. A digital model of a tooth is selected from the segmented model, and its original shape is predicted. The digital model is compared with the predicted original shape to estimate wear areas. A mapping function based upon values relating to tooth wear can also be applied to the selected digital model to predict wear of the tooth.
Abstract:
An optically clear pressure sensitive adhesive article is described herein that includes a pressure sensitive adhesive film disposed on a substrate. The pressure sensitive adhesive film includes an optically clear adhesive composition formed by polymerizing a mixture of monomers that includes at least one (C1-C18)alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer and at least one polar (meth)acrylate monomer, and surface-modified fumed silica disposed in the optically clear pressure sensitive adhesive composition. The pressure sensitive adhesive film has a haze value in a range of 0 to 5% and a visible light transmittance value of 85 to 100%. Methods for making an optically clear pressure sensitive adhesive article are also described.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for implementing experimental trials on utility grids. The variation of grid parameters are coordinated to create periods of time and areas of space from within which the variations of grid parameters do not overlap, allowing sensor data within those periods of time and areas of space to be associated with particular variations in grid parameters. This associated data can in turn be used to improve models of sensor response and utility grid behavior.
Abstract:
Lighting systems include a light-transmissive tube and a light source assembly disposed to inject light into a cavity defined by the tube. The cavity extends along a longitudinal axis. At least a portion of the tube includes an inner structured surface facing the cavity, and an outer structured surface facing away from the cavity. The inner structured surface is configured to direct a first portion of the injected light towards the outer structured surface, and a second portion of the injected light back into the cavity. The inner structured surface includes elongated first features and the outer structured surface includes elongated second features. At least one of the elongated first features and the elongated second features are oriented obliquely relative to the longitudinal axis such that they form respective helixes along the tube.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides lamination transfer films and use of the lamination transfer films, particular in the fabrication of architectural glass elements, such as those used in Insulated Glass Units (IGUs). The lamination transfer films may be used to transfer functional layers and structures. The lamination transfer films may include a support film that can be removed during the transfer process, and the transferred materials are primarily inorganic. The resulting transferred structures on glass generally have high photo- and thermal-stability, and therefore can successfully be applied to the glass surfaces that are interior to the cavity within an IGU. The lamination transfer films can also be patterned such that macroscopic patterns of microoptical elements can be applied on a glass surface.
Abstract:
A mobile device having an augmented reality user interface for use in controlling networked light modules. The mobile device can detect via a camera a light module and display an identification of the light module on a user interface such as a touch screen. A user can enter a command via the user interface such as a desired intensity or color for the light module. In response, the mobile device transmits a signal to the light module in order to control the operation of the module based upon the command.
Abstract:
An interdigitated electrode film co-extruded with bus bars for thin film electronics or other devices. First electrode layers are located between first and second major surfaces of the film with a first bus bar electrically connecting and integrated with the first electrode layers. Second electrode layers are located between the first and second major surfaces with a second bus bar electrically connecting and integrated with the second electrode layers. The first electrode layers are interdigitated with the second electrode layers, and insulating layers electrically isolate the first bus bar and electrode layers from the second bus bar and electrode layers. The electrode films include multilayer films with vertical bus bars and multilane films with horizontal bus bars.
