Abstract:
An anastomosis catheter for joining a first and second severed tubular body element, comprising;(a)semi-rigid shaft characterized by an adjustable length having a distal end and a proximal end with; (b)a distal balloon positioned at said distal end of said shaft and configured for being inserted and at least partially inflated within a first severed body element; (c)a proximal balloon positioned at said proximal end of said shaft and configured for being inserted and inflated within a second severed body element; such that when said shaft is introduced between said body elements and said balloons are inflated within said body elements and said adjustable length portion is adjusted accordingly, said severed ends are maintained and held in contact with one another so that healing between said severed ends is promoted.
Abstract:
An implant for use in the treatment of damaged cartilage within a joint, the implant is adapted to be inserted into a cavity of the joint and reduce stress on the cartilage engendered, for example, by patient activity. The implant may form an internal cushion, which protects the cartilage such that wearing forces. The cushioning effect facilitates regeneration of the cartilage.
Abstract:
There is provided an implant (300) for use in the treatment, amelioration and/or prevention of urethral stenosis. The implant is adapted to be inserted into a urethra, particularly into at least a portion of the prostatic part of the urethra (the part of the urethra which passes through the prostate), and apply pressure, for example, peripheral pressure, against the prostate, while allowing urine flow. The pressure applied by the implant against the prostate "pushes" the part that is in direct contact with and/or in proximity to the implant, away from the prostatic part of the urethra.

Abstract:
A self-locking fastening device comprising fastening elements is disclosed. The fastening elements are adapted to be inserted into a bone. The fastening elements are provided with a bore at a portion thereof to be inserted into the bone. The fastening elements are adapted for consecutively interlocking in a body of said bone by means of inserting the fastening elements into the bone so that each successive element passes through said bore of each preceding element.
Abstract:
A temporarily implantable medical device (100) is disclosed. Said device is implantable in a predetermined body portion to be treated; wherein said device comprises (a) a reversibly implantable elongated continuous strip of (10) a predetermined shape having a biocompatible surface; said strip having a distal end within the body of a patient and a proximal end located adjacent to the subcutaneous tissue of said body portion to be treated; and, (b) a cannula (40) having a least one exposed portion located at. said subcutaneous tissue of said body portion to be treated, accommodating at least a portion of said proximal end of said strip; said cannula comprises sealing means adapted to seal said cannula.
