Abstract:
An apparatus for irrigating the vas deferens in connection with a vasectomy reversal is described. The apparatus comprises a fluid delivery device having a first portion that connects to the vas deferens, the fluid delivery device connecting such that a catheter tip inserts into the vas deferens and is held in stable position relative thereto and such that fluid enters the vas deferens through the catheter tip.
Abstract:
Implantable medical devices for connecting tissue layers, such as for connecting a gallbladder and a portion of a gastrointestinal tract to create an anastomosis, include a tubular structure having two apposition portions, a central region, and a covering material. Each of the apposition portions comprises first and second apposition members oriented at first and second angles relative to a surface of the middle portion. The device may include self-expanding frameworks that facilitate a secure connection between the tissue structures.
Abstract:
An implantable medical device for sealing and repairing defects in a body tissue or for creating an anastomosis includes a frame (1000, 100, 1410, 1610, 1810, 1910, 191, 1, 2210, 2310, 400, 700) and a covering material (1110, 1412, 1612, 1812, 1912, 210, 2214, 2314, 510, 810). In some embodiments, the frame (1000, 100, 1410, 1610, 1810, 1910, 191, 1, 2210, 2310, 400, 700) includes a single continuously wound wire that defines an apposition portion (1020, 120, 130, 1420, 1820, 1920, 1, 420, 720), a defect-occupying portion, and a sealing portion (1030, 130, 1430, 1830, 1930, 430, 730). In some embodiments, the tissue-sealing and anastomosis devices provided herein are well-suited for use in the Gl tract including the small bowel and colon. In some embodiments, a two-part frame (1000, 100, 1410, 1610, 1810, 1910, 191, 1, 2210, 2310, 400, 700) construct facilitates independent tailoring of apposition forces and radial forces exerted on tissues by the two-part frame (1000, 100, 1410, 1610, 1810, 1910, 191, 1, 2210, 2310, 400, 700)
Abstract:
The present specification discloses an expandable device, methods for making such expandable devices, kits comprising one or more expandable devices, and methods and uses for implanting such expandable devices in an anastomosis procedure.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A device and method for repairing a mitral valve leaflet 2, 3. The device 10 includes a body 16 having an annular wall 18 and at least one aperture 22 through the annular wall 18. A deployment assembly 24 mounted on the body includes at least one grasping wire 28 arranged for sliding movement in the aperture 22. Movement of the deployment assembly 24 to a deployed position relative to the body causes a free end of the grasping wire 28 to project out from the annular wall 18 through the aperture 22, and movement of the deployment assembly to a retracted position relative to the body causes the free end of the grasping wire 28 to not project out from the annular wall 18. In the deployed position, the grasping wire 28 may grasp and gather tissue of the leaflet 2,3.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an anastomotic device comprising: a first holder and a second holder for holding a first anastomotic ring and a second anastomotic ring, respectively; a first slave body which is connected to the first holder, and which has a first slave surface; a second slave body which is connected to the second holder, and which has a second slave surface; a first driving body which has a first driving surface sliding along the first slave surface, and which moves along one direction; and a second driving body which has a second driving surface sliding along the second slave surface, and which moves along said direction. The first slave body moves toward the second slave body and the second slave body moves toward the first slave body by the movement of the first driving body and the second driving body.
Abstract:
A method and devices that endoscopically create an anastomosis between two sections of the digestive tract, thereby allowing at least some chyme to bypass a section of the digestive tract while, optionally, the remaining chyme passes through the entire tract.
