A rollable structure for suspending a heavy radiation protective garment so as to allow easy movement in a clinical environment subject to exposure to x-radiation. The structure comprises a vertically extending frame that is attachable to a user, and that permits the user to move freely around the clinical environment and to perform clinical duties without having to bear the weight of the shielding garment. The frame is vertically adjustable, and supports upper shield support surfaces for supporting the shoulder portions of a radiation protection apron. The upper support surfaces extend outwardly from the vertical frame. A rollable lower support frame for the vertical support frame is provided that includes a first lower frame extending forwardly from the vertically extending frame. A second lower frame for supporting the vertically extending frame is located at a position other than forwardly of the vertically extending frame.

Such material is lighter in weight but that provides a specific degree of protection under the standard conditions met in fluoroscopy by workers in the field subjected to reflected, or scattered, radiation emanating from the patient's body. An improved apparatus and method are provided, for pumping fluids, such as water and/or hydrocarbons, from a subterranean formation or reservoir, through use of a cranked rod pumping (CRP) apparatus for imparting reciprocating substantially vertical motion to a rod of a sucker-rod pump having a pump stroke. The CRP apparatus includes a motor driven cranked mechanical actuator arrangement. The cranked mechanical actuator arrangement includes a substantially vertically moveable member attached to the rod of the sucker-rod pump for imparting and controlling vertical motion of the rod of the sucker-rod pump. The actuator arrangement may include pneumatic counterbalancing.

A method and apparatus for determining a fluid level and/or output flow during operation of a centrifugal pump, are provided, which may be used for production of gas and/or oil from a well, and include a vector feedback model to derive values of torque and speed from signals indicative of instantaneous current and voltage drawn by the pump motor, a pump model which derives values of the fluid flow rate and the head pressure for the pump from torque and speed inputs, a pumping system model that derives, from the estimated values of the pump operating parameters, an estimated value of fluid level and other pumping system parameters. Controllers responsive to the estimated values of the pumping system parameters control the pump to maintain fluid level at the pump input, near an optimum level, or within a safe operating range and/or output flow from the pump.

To achieve good solder performance with Pd-free solder to a BGA design, a layer assembly comprising first, second and, optionally, third sub-layers is provided, wherein said first sub-layer comprises a first material, said first material comprising nickel and phosphorus and said first sub-layer being in contact with said second sub-layer; said second sub-layer comprises a second material, said second material comprising palladium and phosphorus and said second sub-layer being in contact with said first sub-layer and said third sub-layer and wherein said second sub-layer is at least 0.1 μm thick; and said third sub-layer comprises a third material, said third material consisting of gold or a gold alloy and said third sub-layer being in contact with said second sub-layer. An apparatus and method for pumping fluids, such as water and/or hydrocarbons, from a subterranean formation or reservoir, include a linear rod pump having a mechanical rack and pinion drive arrangement, adapted for attachment to a pumping mechanism, such as the polished rod at the top of a rod string in a hydrocarbon well. The rack gear, of the rack and pinion drive arrangement, is adapted for connection to, and movement with, the polished rod. The pinion gear does not translate with the rack gear, and is driven by a reversible motor for affecting up and down reciprocating motion of the rack gear and pumping mechanism. Some forms of the invention include a compressible gas counter-balance arrangement. Some forms of the invention include an electronic drive configured for dealing with electric power generated by the motor during a portion of the pumping cycle.

Insbesondere bei der Erzeugung einer Vielzahl von Filmkühllöchern, wie bei Gasturbinenschaufeln oder Brennkammerelementen spielen auch kleine zeitliche Vorteile bei der Herstellung eines Lochs eine Rolle. Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren, das Loch jeweils abschnittsweise in einem oberen und einem unteren Bereich Endkonturnah herzustellen, um dann mit anderen Laserparametern die Endkontur herzustellen, erzielt zeitliche Vorteile.

The inventive method comprises the following steps: the jacket (3) is slid onto a tubular auxiliary application device (2); the section of the vessel is filled with a fluid; the filled section (5) of the vessel is inserted, particularly pulled, into the auxiliary application device (2), the section of the vessel being filled and being inserted into the auxiliary application device (2) with the aid of a tubular auxiliary instrument (1); and the auxiliary application device (2) and the tubular auxiliary instrument (1) are pulled apart while the section (5) of the vessel is pulled out of the auxiliary application device (2) and the jacket (3) is deposited on the surface of the section (5) of the vessel.
