Abstract:
A merchandise display security device (20) for displaying and protecting an article of merchandise (M) includes a mounting element (30) adapted to be mounted on a support surface (SS) with the mounting element defining an opening (33) over a hole (H) formed through the support surface. A base (40) having a cable collection tube (50) is configured to be received within the opening of the mounting element and passed through the hole to a location beneath the support surface. The base is releasably attached to the mounting element so that the base can be detached from the mounting element and the collection tube passed through the hole to provide access to the collection tube above the support surface. The collection tube may be rotatably disposed on the base so that the cable collection tube can be positioned at any desired angular location beneath the support surface relative to the base.
Abstract:
A merchandise display security system (10, 10') for displaying and protecting a demonstration model (DM) of an item of merchandise having a movable or removable cover (C) includes a sensor (20) configured to be attached to the cover. The sensor may include a magnet assembly (30) that produces a magnetic field defining a predetermined minimum strength when the sensor is attached to the cover and the cover is closed on the demonstration model of the item of merchandise. A transducer (28) detects the presence of the magnetic field, or alternatively, changes in the strength of the magnetic field and generates an electrical signal corresponding to the strength of the magnetic field, for example an output voltage. The transducer communicates the electrical signal to electronics (26) that activate an alarm if the strength of the magnetic field is less than a predetermined minimum strength or greater than a predetermined maximum strength.
Abstract:
A merchandise display security device (20) for displaying and protecting articles of merchandise (M) includes a security sensor (30) having adjustable retaining arms (44) for securely retaining a plurality of different articles of merchandise having various dimensions. Each of the opposed retaining arms includes a grip portion (45) at a first end and a rack portion (47) at a second end opposite the grip portion that operatively engages a rotatable pinion gear (48). The rack portions are disposed about the pinion gear such that the retaining arms are moveable in opposite directions in a lateral direction (50) to accommodate articles of merchandise having various widths. The retaining arms are rotatably disposed within a base portion (42) and a cap portion (58) attached to the base portion such that the retaining arms are rotatable about a lateral axis (60) to accommodate articles of merchandise having various thicknesses.
Abstract:
A clothes treating system includes a treating chamber for receiving clothes and a treating fluid therein, and a piston having a piston head. The piston can be adapted for reciprocating linear motion. Reciprocating motion of the piston head within the chamber agitates the clothes. An inner false wall can be contained within the chamber, and can have a corrugated surface providing frictional agitation of the clothes as the clothes are moved against the corrugated surface by the reciprocal motion of the piston head.
Abstract:
A cabinet lock (20) for protecting merchandise (11) within a merchandise display cabinet (10) having an inner door (12) and an outer door (14). The cabinet lock includes a strike plate (32) affixed to the inner door and a lock housing (22) affixed to the outer door such that the cabinet is in a locked configuration that prevents access to the merchandise when the lock housing is operably engaged with the strike plate. A programmable electronic key (40) communicates a security code with the cabinet lock and transfers electrical power to the cabinet lock to operate a lock mechanism (23) between the locked configuration and an unlocked configuration. An indicator (30) is provided for indicating whether the cabinet lock is in the locked configuration or the unlocked configuration. The indicator includes a first segment (A) and a second segment (B) that can be energized to visually indicate the status of the cabinet lock.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention are directed to systems and methods for preventing unauthorized access to server racks. In one example, a system includes an electronic key and an electronic lock configured to be attached to the server rack. The electronic lock is configured to communicate with the electronic key for determining whether the electronic key is authorized to unlock or lock the lock. The electronic lock includes a handle configured to be disengaged from the electronic lock when the electronic key is authorized, and the handle is configured to be actuated to unlock the lock for accessing the server rack when the handle is disengaged from the electronic lock. The electronic lock is configured to re-lock only when the handle is engaged with the electronic lock.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention are directed to merchandise security systems and methods for displaying and protecting an item of merchandise from theft. In one example, the merchandise security system includes a track configured to be engaged with a support surface and a plurality of security devices each configured to secure an item of merchandise and to releasably engage the track for receiving and/or providing power, security, and/or data signals via the track.
Abstract:
A merchandise display security tether (20) includes a mounting base (30), a releasable adhesive (40) for releasably attaching the mounting base to an article of merchandise (M), and a housing (50) configured to be positioned over the mounting base and a releasing portion (42) of the releasable adhesive. The housing is secured to the mounting base by a tamper-proof fastener (70) to prevent access to the releasing portion of the releasable adhesive. The security tether further includes a security cable (80) having a first end (81) attached to the housing and a second end (83) for attachment to a merchandise display (B, DS). The housing is removable by a special tool (100) to expose the releasing portion of the releasable adhesive. The releasing portion is pulled to release the mounting base and the article of merchandise without damage to the merchandise and without leaving an adhesive residue on the merchandise.
Abstract:
A security device for securing an item of merchandise from theft is provided. The security device includes a housing configured to be coupled to the item of merchandise and a lock mechanism operably engaged with the housing. The lock mechanism is operable to lock the item of merchandise within or to the housing in a locked configuration and to allow the item of merchandise to be removed from the housing in an unlocked configuration. The lock mechanism is configured to communicate with an electronic key for locking and/or unlocking thereof. The security device also includes an alarm operably engaged with the housing and configured to generate a security signal in response to tampering the housing. The alarm is configured to communicate with the electronic key for arming and/or disarming thereof.
