According to a first aspect of the invention a secure storage unit comprising a plurality of movable trays (11) within a housing (10) is equipped with a tray selector system for selectively accessing a tray on demand, wherein the selector system is configured to release a selected tray (11) for access by limiting the allowable extent of movement of the tray from a stowed to an accessible position with respect to the storage unit by a pre-determined amount whereby access to selected zones of selected trays is controlled.In an embodiment of the secure storage unit, the selector system comprises a plurality of discrete electromechanical locking devices (14) operably juxtaposed with respect to the trays, and configured to be individually selectable for releasing and limiting the allowable extent of movement of the selected tray with respect to the storage unit. It is envisaged that in such an embodiment, a tray with a lid subdivided into discrete sections by slot division allows sections to be selectively locked or released by electromechanical means, for example whereby upon access to a sub unit, a selected one (or more) of the sections is retained in position within the storage unit as the tray is released to emerge therefrom by a controlled extent. Thus to the user it appears that as the tray (or drawer) is ejected from the storage unit, the cover section for the selected item is retracted.

The invention relates to a dispensing unit for dispensing portions of liquid from a liquid reservoir, comprising a receiving opening for the liquid adapted for releasable coupling to the liquid reservoir and connected to the interior of the impeller housing, an outlet opening connected to the interior of the impeller housing, a drivable impeller for carrying the liquid in controlled manner from the receiving opening to the outlet opening, and provided with a coupling means accessible from an outer side of the impeller housing for coupling the impeller to a drive. The invention also relates to a device for dispensing liquids provided with such a unit, and method for coupling such a unit to a liquid reservoir.

An electronic lock replaces mechanical locks in cam lock, cabinet lock and switch lock applications, as well as other locks for file cabinets, desk and cabinet drawers, access panels and other secure situations that often utilize relatively simple lock mechanisms. In a preferred embodiment the lock is without a keypad, accessed by an electronic key making contact with a terminal.

A security device (10) is provided for a mobile retail cart (12) having a lockable compartment (16) for storing goods to be sold. The security device comprises an electronic lock unit for securing a closure (14) of the compartment, the electronic lock unit including means (21) for reading an electronic key device and means (23) for locking and unlocking the closure in response thereto. A memory records data read from the electronic key device and information relating to the locking and/or unlocking of the compartment. The security device is suitable for use as an airline security device for a retail cart for storing goods to be sold on board an aircraft.
