Abstract:
Disclosed is a process for producing maleic anhydride from an oxygenate feedstock. A mixed C 4 hydrocarbons is produced and refined from an oxygenate to olefin process and has low content of isobutene and isobutane. The mixed C 4 hydrocarbon composition is then either directly be made into maleic anhydride or alternatively the mixed C 4 hydrocarbon composition can first be hydrogenated to produced a stream rich in n-butane which can then used to produce maleic anhydride.
Abstract:
This invention is directed to a method of removing dimethyl ether from an olefin stream. The method includes distilling the olefin stream so that the dimethyl ether is separated out of the olefin stream with propane. The olefin stream can then be further distilled to provide a polymer grade ethylene stream and a polymer grade propylene stream, with each stream containing not greater than about 10 wppm dimethyl ether.
Abstract:
A method is disclosed for converting syngas to Fischer-Tropsch (F-T) hydrocarbon products. A synthesis gas including carbon monoxide and hydrogen gas is provided to a F-T reactor. Also, acetylene is supplied to the F-T reactor. The ratio of the volume of acetylene to the volume of synthesis gas is at least 0.01. The synthesis gas and acetylene are reacted under suitable reaction conditions and in the presence of a catalyst to produce F-T hydrocarbon products. The F-T hydrocarbon products are then recovered from the reactor. The synthesis gas and acetylene may be provided in a combined feed stream or introduced separately into the reactor. The acetylene enhanced syngas conversion in a F-T reactor results in the synthesis of F-T products which have a tighter distribution of intermediate length carbon products than do F-T products synthesized according to conventional methods.

Abstract:
A method and system for processing produced fluids from a subterranean reservoir is disclosed. The system comprises: (a) a separator for separating produced fluids from a subterranean reservoir into associated gases, water and crude oil, (b) a membrane which receives at least a portion of the associated gases containing the hydrogen sulfide and separates the gas into a permeate stream enriched in hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide and a retentate stream depleted in hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide; (c) an amine unit for removing carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide from the retentate stream; and (d) a sour gas injection unit for injecting at the permeate stream in an underground formation.
