    Abstract: A method and apparatus for separating grease from solids and water in a sewage lift station and transferring the grease, solids and water from the station to remote, higher destinations. Grease is conveyed from a first chamber (10) to a second chamber (14) at a first level, while solids and water are pumped from the first chamber to a third chamber (18) from a lower level. Water is conveyed to from the second chamber to the third chamber. Grease is pumped from the second chamber to a first destination, while water and solids are pumped from the third chamber to a second destination.

    Abstract: A food disposal system for installation on a drain (12) of a commercial kitchen sink (10) enables segregation of oil/grease from effluent flows from the drain. A housing (32) collects effluents flows containing water, oil/grease, and solids from the drain (12), and a macerating pump (18) has an inlet (19) connected to an opening of the housing that is other than downwardly directed and an outlet connected to a sanitary drain (28). A greasy water outlet extends to an oil/grease separator (32) from an outlet on the housing above the macerating pump inlet (19), and a hot water backflush source enables hot water to flow into the housing.
