Abstract:
An inflatable mattress-sling having an inflatable torso support pad, a first leg extending out from a first portion of the inflatable torso support pad, and a second leg spaced from the first leg and extending out from a second portion of the inflatable torso support pad. The legs include straps attached to their inner and outer seams so as to facilitate lifting of a patient.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a cable routing system with brackets that join cable trays to form the cable routing system. A bracket that joins adjacent cable trays includes a main body having a base with a top edge, a bottom edge and sides. The bracket further includes upper members that extend from the top edge, a bottom member that extends from the bottom edge and side members extending from the sides. When attached to adjacent cable trays, the longitudinal wires of the cable tray are positioned between the upper members and the side members and the transverse wires of the cable tray are retained in a space defined by the upper members. A bracket that joins perpendicular cable trays includes a main body and a securing clip. The main body has a bottom and two sides extending upwardly therefrom. Each side of the main body includes a deflectable side latch that engages a bottom longitudinal wire of the cable tray. The securing clip engages the main body to secure the bracket to the cable tray.
Abstract:
The invention provides a process for the production of a hydrocarbon product comprising contacting a feedstock with a catalyst composition comprising an active metal selected from platinum, palladium, nickel, cobalt, copper, ruthenium, rhodium and rhenium and an active porous material which is active for the isomerisation of unsaturated hydrocarbons, characterised in that the feedstock comprises a fatty acid, a fatty acid ester, a monoglyceride, a diglyceride or a triglyceride.
Abstract:
An inflatable mattress having an inflated torso support pad, a first leg extending out from a first portion of the inflated torso support pad, and a second leg spaced from the first leg and extending out from a second portion of the inflated torso support pad. The first leg and the second leg define a gap between them to allow the legs to be spread apart for toileting or cleaning of the patient, or deflated and rolled upon themselves so as to provide easy access to the patient during clinical procedures. A method is provided for positioning a patient with the inflatable mattress.
Abstract:
A method for increasing the floccule size and volume of alumina trihydrate during the Bayer processing of bauxite ore using a flocculant in conjunction with a water continuous polymer. The addition of the flocculant and the water continuous polymer to the alumina trihydrate slurry following the security filtration and settling producing trihydrate that is put through the calcination process to produce purified alumina or used as seed for the precipitation process.

Abstract:
A method of powering up a disk drive storage enclosure (10) is disclosed, the storage enclosure (10) having at least one power supply (15) and at least one module (17) having a keyed readable interface corresponding to its power rating. The method comprises: receiving a power-on signal; determining the power supplying capability of the storage enclosure (10); determining the power requirement of the storage enclosure (10) including reading the keyed readable interface to determine the power rating of the at least one keyed module (17); determining the power mode attainable by the system in accordance with the power supplying capability and the power requirement, the modes including at least power on and power off; and, powering up or not powering up the storage enclosure (10) in accordance with said power mode.
Abstract:
A pneumatic lift including at least three jacking-mattresses stacked one atop another and arranged in air flow communication with one another where a top one of the jacking mattresses defines a foot end with a pouch-flap secured to that foot end so as to form a pocket. At least one of the jacking-mattresses is also arranged in air flow communication with a source of pressurized air.
Abstract:
A single patient, personal use patient transfer mattress is provided including at least a substantially permanently stainable top sheet having a width, a length, and longitudinally oriented peripheral edges and a bottom sheet having the same width, the same length, longitudinally oriented peripheral edges and a plurality of perforations. The longitudinally oriented peripheral edges of the top and bottom sheets are sealingly fastened to one another. A plurality of baffles, each having a width and a length, are attached to an inner surface of the top sheet and an inner surface of the bottom sheet so as to be transversely oriented between the top sheet and the bottom. The baffles along with the widths of the top and bottom sheets define a radially-outwardly curved perimeter wall that is disposed between an edge of the baffles and the sealed peripheral edges of the top and bottom sheets. The radially-outwardly curved perimeter wall has a width y that is determined by the following relationship Formula (1): where d comprises a height of the longitudinally extensive pontoon and x comprises the width of the baffles.
Abstract:
This invention relates to vectors that permit regulated, inducible expression of a RNA coding sequence (encoding, for example, a shRNA or miRNA), and methods using these vectors. The vectors include a polynucleotide encoding the Tet repressor (TetR) protein and a promoter comprising one or more Tet operon (TetO) sequences. In another aspect, the invention relates to a codon-optimized TetR coding region, and vectors comprising this codon-optimized TetR coding region. In another aspect, the invention relates to a modified HI promoter comprising two tet operon sites, and vectors comprising this modified HI promoter. The invention further relates to methods for regulated gene knockdown in mammalian cells.
