Abstract: Disclosed is multi-flow filter cartridge assembly that includes an elongated housing that has axially opposed proximal and distal ends and defines an interior cavity and first, second and third flow paths which extend from the proximal end of the housing to the distal end. The cartridge assembly also includes first, second and third filter elements. The first filter element is disposed within the interior cavity of the housing and conditions fluid that traverses the first flow path from a first inlet port to a first outlet port. The second filter element is disposed within the interior cavity of the housing and conditions fluid that traverses the second flow path from a second inlet port to a second outlet port. Lastly, the third filter element is also disposed within the interior cavity of the housing and conditions fluid that traverses the third flow path from a third inlet port to a third outlet port. The first flow path is isolated from the second and third flow paths and the second flow path is isolated from the third flow path.

Abstract: A surgical access device includes a proximal housing having proximal and distal end portions, the distal end portion of the housing being configured and adapted to engage a proximal portion of a flexible wound retractor. The proximal housing can be provided with a plenum chamber being defined therein, the plenum chamber being in fluid communication with at least one nozzle. The nozzle is preferably configured to direct pressurized fluid in an axial direction from the plenum chamber into a central bore of the surgical access device to provide a constant gaseous seal around a surgical instrument inserted therethrough, while inhibiting a loss of pressurized fluid from the body cavity therethrough. The plenum chamber can be adapted and configured to receive pressurized fluid and conduct the pressurized fluid to the at least one nozzle.

Abstract: An adapter (10) for use with a gas filter canister (13) worn by a user as part of a breathing apparatus. The adapter (10) is constructed of a semi-rigid plastic that has a plurality of scalloped or castellated edges. The scalloped or castellated edges allow the adapter to snap-fit over the top of the canister (13). Projections or lugs (37) on the inside of the edge of the adapter can deflect and snap over the rim (40) of the canister (13). An adapter seal in the form of a large preformed packing or 0- ring (55), is pressed between the inside of the adapter top and the outside of the canister top such that an airtight seal is formed. The adapter is capable of moving relative to the filter canister to accommodate different positions of the flexible conduit between an adapter inlet (22) and the outlet (76) of a self contained blower assembly (70).
