Abstract:
A turret punch press (1) includes an upper and lower turret (15, 17) for respectively supporting a plurality of punches (11) and dies (13); the punches (11) are arranged two-dimensionally in a punch mounting region on the upper turret (15) and the dies (13) are arranged two-dimensionally in a die mounting region on the lower turret (17). The turret punch press further includes a ram (21) and a striker (19) for striking the punches. The striker (19) is provide on a bottom of the ram (21) so as to be movable in two horizontal directions (X, Y) above the punches indexed in a processing region. In the turret punch press, when the turret is indexed in the processing region, many punches and dies are sinultaneously indexed in the processing region. Thus, by moving the striker in two horizontal directions above the punches indexed in the processingregion, many successive punch operations can be quickly performed without intermediate rotation of the turrets.

A preform for molding an optical element comprises an element body forming portion for forming an element body including optical surfaces, an annular flange forming portion provided on a periphery of the element body forming portion and having a first thickness, and an annular rim forming portion provided on a periphery of the flange forming portion and having a second thickness that is smaller than the first thickness to form annular steps on a top face side and a bottom face side of the flange forming portion, upon deformation caused by being heated and compressed, an outer periphery of the rim forming portion abutting on an inner surface of a barrel die with the annular steps left to remain.

An aspect of the present invention provides a joining method by which a process involving heating is carried out when a first and a second sheet member formed of Si, SiO 2 or glass and of a different material from each other are joined together, the joining method characterized by comprising: joining the first and the second sheet member together by adjusting any one or more of the conditions of a ratio of thickness between the first and the second sheet member, a temperature-rise rate at the time of junction and a difference in thermal expansion coefficient between the first and the second sheet member.

To easily confirm whether a breather filter is attached even after attaching a top cover on a base. Filter confirmation holes (21a) and (21b) besides a gas port (20) for circulating a gas between a breather filter (14) and the outside are formed in an area where the breather filter (14) is attached. At the time of a leak test to HDD 1, for example, a pressurized gas is supplied from a fresh air hole (20). If the breather filter (14) is not attached, the gas will leak from the filter confirmation holes (21a) and (21b). Therefore, it is detectable by measuring the pressure at the time of a leak test that the breather filter 14 is not attached. In addition, Figure (2) is a perspective view without a top cover.
