Abstract:
This invention relates to a wearable personal dispensing unit. More specifically, this invention relates to a wearable personal dispensing unit (PDU) which can incorporate a variety of sizes and shapes of wearable anti-bacterial liquid containers. The PDU comprises a two-part casing including: a common base part having a sensor to detect a dispensing operation of an anti-bacterial liquid container encased in the casing, the common base part further comprising one part of a pair of complementary, releasable locking members; and an interchangeable sheath part dimensioned to enclose an anti-bacterial liquid container in co-operation with the common base part, the interchangeable sheath part having the other part of a pair of complementary releasable locking members. A plurality of alternative sheath parts are provided to suit different shaped and sized anti-bacterial liquid containers.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a system, method and personal dispenser unit (PDU) for monitoring hand hygiene compliance. More specifically, the invention is concerned with monitoring compliance with the World Health Organisation (WHO) guidelines on hand washing moments by a health care worker (HCW) in a healthcare facility. The healthcare facility has a plurality of sensors designating areas within the healthcare facility as healthcare zones and patient zones. The HCW carries a PDU of hand washing compound and a tracking device on their person. The PDU transmits an indication of a dispensing event each time the PDU is used. A central monitoring unit (CMU) receives the indications of dispensing events and the location of the HCW in the healthcare facility over time and determines the type of hand washing moment that was performed. In one embodiment, the PDU is equipped with an input device to allow the HCW to indicate the type of hand washing moment being performed.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a wall mountable drip tray (1) of the type comprising a mounting plate (5) for mounting the drip tray to a wall, a liquid reservoir (7) extending forwardly from the mounting plate and in which the wall mountable drip tray further comprises monitoring equipment (9) including a proximity sensor (8) for detecting an individual or equipment in the vicinity of the drip tray. The monitoring equipment further comprises a transceiver for communicating with one or more of a remote control unit (23), a fixed network unit (35) and a mobile network unit (37) of a monitoring system (21). By providing such a wall mountable drip tray, existing hand hygiene infrastructure, specifically wall mounted antibacterial liquid dispensers, in an installation can be incorporated into a new monitoring system and will not become obsolete.
