Abstract:
Embodiments include systems and methods comprising a gateway located at a premise forming at least one network on the premise that includes a plurality of premise devices. A sensor user interface (SUI) is coupled to the gateway and presented to a user via a remote device. The SUI includes at least one display element. The at least one display element includes a floor plan display that represents at least one floor of the premise. The floor plan display visually and separately indicates a location and a current state of each premise device of the plurality of premise devices.

Abstract:
An integrated security system is described comprising a gateway located at a first location, The gateway includes a takeover component that establishes a coupling with a first controller of a security system installed at the first location, The security system includes security system components coupled to the first controller. The takeover component automatically extracts security data of the security system from the first controller. The gateway automatically transfers the security data extracted from the controller to a second controller. The second controller is coupled to the security system components and replaces the first controller.
Abstract:
A modular touchscreen platform enables dynamic reconfiguration of the touchscreen for different functions. The touchscreen platform includes the touchscreen display and one or more removeable and replaceable modules that each enable different functions in the touchscreen platform. The modules provide different functionality through the touchscreen depending on needs of the user. The touchscreen platform can be used as an in-home consumer touchscreen with uses including home management, energy management, security, surveillance, health monitoring, elder care and other consumer applications.
Abstract:
A power interface enables a low-power device to be powered from an alternating current (AC) wall receptacle or light socket with automatic backup battery charging. The power interface of an embodiment comprises a transformer module that receives an input signal. The device includes a battery module coupled to the transformer module, and the battery module includes battery charging circuitry coupled to a battery. The device comprises an output controller coupled to the transformer module and the battery module. The output controller includes detector circuitry that detects a state of the input signal. The output controller automatically controls coupling of one of a transformer module output and a battery module output to a device output according to the state of the input signal.
Abstract:
A system user interface (SUI) provides an iconic, at-a-glance representation of security system status The SUI is for use across all client types, and includes numerous display elements presented across all types of client devices used to monitor status of the security system The display elements of the SUI include an orb icon, text summary, arm button, device and system warnings, interesting sensors, and quiet sensors The SUI provides system status summary information (e g, security and sensors) uniformly across all clients. The SUI provides consistent iconography, terminology, and display rules across all clients as well as consistent sensor and system detail across clients The SUI also includes an interactive Timeline interface, a widget-based Slideshow timeline interface, and a graphical interface for managing schedules, set points, and controls for lighting and thermostats and general energy usage.
Abstract:
A system comprises an automation network including a gateway at a premises coupled to a remote server. Premises devices are coupled to the gateway and form a device network in the premises. An automation user interface (AUI) application runs on remote devices and accesses the premises devices, and the remote devices comprise multiple device types. An application program interface (API) executes on the gateway and/or remote server and serves normalized data including state and/or history data of the premises devices to the AUI application on the remote devices. A normalized data model generates the normalized data including the state and/or history data of the plurality of premises devices agnostically to the plurality of remote devices.
Abstract:
Systems and methods include a voltage transformer connected to a power source. The voltage transformer transforms a high voltage of the power source to a first low voltage signal. Regulators are connected to the voltage transformer, and the regulators receive the first low voltage signal from the voltage transformer and convert the first low voltage signal to a second low voltage signal. A remote device is connected to each of the regulators. The remote device is powered by the second low voltage signal from the regulator to which it is connected.
Abstract:
Some embodiments of a method for premises management networking include monitoring premises management devices connected to a gateway at a premises; controlling premises management devices connected to the gateway at the premises; receiving, at the premises, an uplink-initiation signal associated with a network operations center server; and in response to the uplink-initiation signal, initiating, from the gateway at the premises, communications between the gateway and the network operations center server; and communicating, during the communications between the gateway and the network operations center server, information associated with the premises management devices.
