An agent selected from: (a) interferon-ß (IFN-ß); (b) an agent that increases IFN-ß expression; or (c) a polynucleotide which is capable of expressing (a) or (b); for use in the treatment of individuals with lower respiratory tract illness that has developed during or following an established ILI, wherein said treatment is by airway delivery of said medicament.
Abstract:
An inspection apparatus (100) can comprise at least one light source for illuminating a target. The at least one light source can be provided as part of a light source bank (262, 272) having one or more light sources. Inspection apparatus (100) can include one or more light source banks (262, 272). The at least one light source can be disposed and/or controlled in such manner as to reduce a heat generation by the at least one light source and in such manner as to reduce a power consumption of the at least one light source.
Abstract:
A method of real-time processing and monitoring comprises the steps Of blending a material of interest (e.g., an active pharmceutical material), with a secondary material, (e.g., an excipient), illuminating the blended materials with light, reflecting light carrying information about the blended materials through at least one multivariate optical element (148) and detecting said light with a first detector (152), detecting a deflected portion of the information carrying light with a second detector (156), and determining in real-time at least one selected property of the blended materials based on the detector outputs.
Abstract:
A method of high-speed processing and monitoring of a product, such as a pharmaceutical powder or tablet, comprises: moving the product (C) past an inspection station; illuminating at least a portion of the product with light; spectrally filtering a first portion of light carrying invormation about the product, o.g., transmitted or reflected light, by passing said first portion through at least one multivariate optical element (148) and detecting said filtered light with a first detector (152), - detecting a deflected second portion of said light with a second detector (156); and determining at least one selected property of the product based on the detector outputs.
Abstract:
A Terahertz scanning imaging device for imaging objects where the object is larger than the object to imager distance. The imager comprises scanning elements, sensors, and an image processor. The scanning elements are used to direct radiation to the sensors. Multiple scanning elements and sensors may be used, each scanning a portion of the field of view. The image processor, in communication with the sensors, generates a consolidated 2-dimensional image of a field of view.
Abstract:
The terahertz camera has a fixed objective lens (2) and a plurality of detectors (3) positioned at the focal plane of the objective lens (2). Each of the detectors (3) is mounted on a movable support (10) so that the antenna is capable of movement across the focal plane of the objective lens (2) and is provided with a flexible waveguide (4) for connecting the output of the detector (3) with signal processing means. Each detector (3) is also provided with a retroreflector (6) which is reflective at frequencies other than terahertz frequencies. During use of the camera, the retroreflector (6) of each detector (3) is illuminated at non-terahertz frequencies so that the spatial position of each detector (3) and hence the spatial source of signals generated by the detector can be accurately identified. The terahertz camera is particularly suited for use in security installations and in chemical and food processing industries.
Abstract:
In some cases, one or more rendered views of a scene of a particular content item, such as a video game, may be generated by a content provider and transmitted from the content provider to multiple different clients. Additionally, in some cases, a content provider may employ multiple graphics processing units to generate the one or more views. Furthermore, in some cases, data associated with multiple different views of a scene may be combined into a single data collection, such as a render target.
Abstract:
The invention provides polynucleotide vectors and linkers and methods for designing and making single chain variable fragment ("ScFv") libraries. The invention also provides polynucleotide vectors and linkers and methods for reformatting the ScFv library into Fab and IgG formats for high throughput production and screening.
Abstract:
A method of using multivariate optical computing in real-time to collect instantaneous data about a process stream includes installing an optical analysis system proximate a process line, the process line being configured to move a material past a window of the optical analysis system; illuminating a portion of the material with a light from the optical analysis system; directing the light carrying information about the portion through at least one multivariate optical element in the optical analysis system to produce an instantaneous measurement result about the portion; and continuously averaging the instantaneous measurement result over a period of time to determine an overall measurement signal of the material.
