Abstract:
An idler (114) having an axis of rotation (119). The idler may include a hub (128) with a flange (134). A plurality of rim members (150) are positioned along a perimeter (136) of the flange and have generally axially facing, opposite side surfaces (154). At least one of the side surfaces (154) has a first interlocking formation (161). A clamping plate (180) is connected to the flange. The clamping plate has a second interlocking formation (161) coupled with the first interlocking formation (161). A dampening member (210) interposes the first and second interlocking formations.
Abstract:
A seal assembly can be incorporated into a track pin joint assembly including a pin defining a longitudinal axis, a first member and a second member both coaxial with the pin about the longitudinal axis. The first member is pivotable about the longitudinal axis with respect to the second member and includes a load ring engagement surface defining a seal cavity disposed in proximal relationship to the second member. A seal assembly including a seal ring and a load ring is disposed in the seal cavity and sealingly engages the first and second members. An axial segment of a seal ring engagement surface of the load ring extends over at least half the length, measured along the longitudinal axis, between a radial segment of the seal ring engagement surface and a radial segment of a first member engagement surface of the load ring. At least one of a load ring engagement surface of the first member and an axial segment of the first member engagement surface of the load ring includes a convex rounded portion.
Abstract:
A master link (62, 64) for a chain assembly (22) is provided. The master link includes a body member (66) with a first side (68), a second side (70) positioned opposite the first side, a shoe surface (76) configured to receive a track shoe (24), and a rail surface (78) positioned opposite the shoe surface. The master link also includes first and second apertures (72, 74) extending through the body member from the first side to the second side and third and fourth apertures (80, 82) extending through the body member from the first side to the second side and located between the first and second apertures. The master link also includes a strut member (84) dividing the third and fourth apertures. The master link also includes a first gap (90) located in the body member and extending from the first aperture to the third aperture and a second gap (92) located in the body member and extending from the fourth aperture to the second aperture. The master link further includes a third gap (94) located in the strut member and extending from the third aperture to the fourth aperture.

A seal assembly can be incorporated into a track pin joint assembly including a pin defining a longitudinal axis, a first member and a second member both coaxial with the pin about the longitudinal axis. The first member is pivotable about the longitudinal axis with respect to the second member and includes a load ring engagement surface defining, at least in part, an axially- extending seal cavity disposed in proximal relationship to the second member. A seal assembly including a seal ring and a load ring is disposed in the seal cavity and sealingly engages the first member and the second member. At least one of a load ring engagement surface of the first member and an axial segment of a first member engagement surface of the load ring includes a convex rounded portion extending over at least half the axial length thereof.
Abstract:
A link (17) for a track-type machine is disclosed. The link may have a body portion (105). The link may also have an aperture (24) extending through the body portion. The aperture may have a cylindrical portion (90). Additionally, the aperture may have an annular groove (110) formed in the cylindrical portion. The aperture may also have a tapered portion (125). The tapered portion may abut the cylindrical portion, and may taper toward the cylindrical portion.

Abstract:
A track assembly for a track-type machine is disclosed. The track assembly includes inner and outer track links. A rotatable bushing is positioned about a track pin and a sleeve bearing is positioned about the track pin. A first seal member is disposed between an inner track link and the rotatable bushing and a second seal member is disposed between inner and outer track links. A first thrust ring is engaged with the rotatable bushing and a second thrust ring is engaged with the sleeve bearing. A first contact member is engaged with the first seal member and a second contact member is engaged with the second seal member. The first and second contact members are configured to inhibit wear of the first and second seal members.
Abstract:
A cartridge bearing assembly (30) for a track chain (14) of a track type work machine (10) is provided. The cartridge bearing assembly (30) includes axial/radial load bearing insert members (36a, 36b) positioned about a pin (34), and a rotatable bushing (42) positioned therebetween. Crowned sleeve bearings (40) are disposed between the insert members (36a, 36b) and the pin (34), as well as between the pin (34) and the rotatable bushing (42). Collars (44a, 44b) are disposed at opposite ends of the pin (34) and fixedly coupled thereto, trapping the other components of the cartridge assembly (30) therebetween. A method of operating a track type work machine (10) is further provided, including reducing wear between coupled track links (15a, 15b) by reacting axial loads via insert members (36a, 36b) positioned about a track pin (34).
