Abstract:
A patient support apparatus includes an inflatable mattress for supporting a patient and an air supply for supplying air to the inflatable mattress. A control system controls the air supply and inflatable mattress to provide therapeutic functions. The control system is configurable to make a subset of the therapeutic functions available to a user. A control panel containing controls for therapeutic functions is provided. An interchangeable bezel covers the control panel to provide access to controls for the subset of available therapeutic functions and obscure controls for unavailable therapeutic functions.
Abstract:
A patient support system including a frame having first and second portions, at least one of them movable with respect to the other to transition the frame between a first configuration and a second configuration. A first port is coupled to the first portion of the frame, and a second port disposed with the second portion of the frame, such that a distance between the first port and the second port changes when the frame transitions between the first and second configurations. A fluid conduit is arranged between the first port and the second port and configured to transition between a first length and a second length, longer than the first length, when the frame is transitioned between the first and second configurations. The fluid conduit is configured with a resiliency to naturally return toward the first length. A method of using a patient support system is also included.

Abstract:
A method of treating a tissue site is provided. The method includes applying a reduced pressure to a tissue site with a reduced pressure source. A source pressure is monitored at the reduced pressure source, and a differential pressure is determined between the source pressure and the desired tissue site pressure. If a blockage is present between the reduced pressure source and the tissue site, the differential pressure is limited to a first maximum differential pressure. If no blockage is present between the reduced pressure source and the tissue site, the differential pressure is limited to a second maximum differential pressure.
Abstract:
A patient support apparatus includes a mattress for supporting a patient, and low-volume turning bladders coupled to the mattress, and a low-volume, high pressure air supply for inflating the turning bladders. In an embodiment, a patient support apparatus comprises a mattress for supporting a patient, a first plurality of low-volume turning bladders disposed along a first longitudinal edge of the mattress, and a low-volume, high pressure air supply for inflating the first plurality of bladders. The air supply may supply between 0.1-100 L/min at a pressure between 1-200 mmHg.
Abstract:
A system and method for treating a tissue site of a patient may include sensing one or more characteristics of exudate fluid of a tissue site of a patient. A level of the sensed one or more characteristics of the exudate fluid may be measured, and, in response to the measured at least one characteristic level, treatment may be applied or altered to the tissue site.
