    摘要: A first gas present at low concentration in a source gas (1) is recovered from the source gas (comprising a fast first gas and a slow second gas) at a relatively high recovery using a particular scheme of three gas separation membrane stages. The non-permeate (R1) from the first stage (9) is a product gas comprising the slow gas. The second stage (13) feeds non-permeate (R2) to the third stage (7). The third stage (7) non-permeate (R3) is combined with the source gas (1) to give the gas (11) fed to the first stage (9). The permeate (P2) from the second stage (13) is divided into two portions. The second portion (P2B) is a product gas comprising the fast gas. The first portion (P2A) is combined with the permeates (P1, P3) from the first and third stages (9, 7) and the combination (15) is compressed and fed to the second stage (13). The invention is particularly applicable for separation of Helium from natural gas.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for the production of air gases by the cryogenic separation of air can include the steps of sending a purified and compressed air stream to a cold box under conditions effective for cryogenically separating the air stream into an oxygen product and nitrogen using a system of columns, wherein the purified and compressed air stream is at a feed pressure when entering the system of columns; withdrawing the oxygen product at a product pressure; delivering the oxygen product at a delivery pressure to an oxygen pipeline, wherein the oxygen pipeline has a pipeline pressure; wherein during the second mode of operation, the method can include monitoring the pipeline pressure; and reducing the difference between the pipeline pressure and the delivery pressure. By operating in a dynamic fashion, a power savings can be realized in instances in which the pipeline pressure deviates from its highest value.
