Abstract:
Compression transforming video into a compressed representation (which typically can be delivered at a capped pixel rate compatible with conventional video systems), including by generating spatially blended pixels and temporally blended pixels (e.g., temporally and spatially blended pixels) of the video, and determining a subset of the blended pixels for inclusion in the compressed representation including by assessing quality of reconstructed video determined from candidate sets of the blended pixels. Trade-offs may be made between temporal resolution and spatial resolution of regions of reconstructed video determined by the compressed representation to optimize perceived video quality while reducing the data rate. The compressed data may be packed into frames. A reconstruction method generates video from a compressed representation using metadata indicative of at least one reconstruction parameter for spatial regions of the reconstructed video.
Abstract:
A composition and method for reducing the shine of human skin is disclosed. The composition imparts a topical matte finish to the skin for an extended time period. The composition contains polymeric microparticles, optionally loaded with a cosmetic or therapeutic skin care compound.
Abstract:
Coding method complexity types are assigned to video for combinations of coding decision levels associated with a sequence of pictures, a group of pictures, pictures, a scene, a region of the scene or picture, a block or macroblock. Multiple coding units are encoded as a function of complexity and determined from the coding decision levels. A first coding decision level is associated with determining a first complexity and a first coding method type for the sequence of pictures. A second coding decision level is associated with determining a second complexity and a second coding method type for the pictures or scene. The picture or sequence includes the coding units. A third coding decision level is associated with determining a third complexity and a third coding method type for the coding units.
Abstract:
A microparticle delivery system for an active compound which includes an active compound loaded onto polymeric microparticles, wherein the loaded microparticles are encased by a matrix material comprising about 68% to about 99%, by weight, of the microparticle delivery system. Compositions containing the microparticle delivery system, and methods of manufacturing the microparticle delivery system, also are disclosed.

Abstract:
Methods for post-processing of non-key frames of an image are described. According to the methods, reconstructed non-key frames are updated with information of neighboring key frames. Methods to evaluate whether to update or not update the non-key frames are also described.
Abstract:
A liquid cleansing composition comprising a cleansing surfactant, an adsorbed skin-care agent, adsorptive polymeric particles having an adsorption capacity of at least 2 g of skin care agent per gm of dry polymeric particles, a polymeric thickening agent having a molecular weight in the range of 500,000 - 10,000,000 Dalton, a water-soluble polymer having a molecular weight in the range of 200 - 50,000 Dalton, and a hydrophilic liquid, the said cleansing composition having the following features i) the low molecular weight, water- soluble polymer component functions as a foam-boosting and thixotropy- boosting agent; ii) the ratio of the Brookfield viscosity at 1 rpm of spindle speed to the Brookfield viscosity at 100 rpm of spindle speed is at least 10; and iii) the foam-volume is at least 20% higher with the water-soluble, polymeric, foam-boosting component than without it.
