A method for improving seismic images by correction of distortions in the underlying seismic data caused by a near-surface anomaly that produces a non-hyperbolic move-out component of the seismic reflection below the anomaly includes the steps of: a. redatuming the input seismic data to go from the surface to a target horizon using true one-way traveltime operators to provide a first new redatuming dataset; b. redatuming the input seismic data using hyperbolic one-way travel time operators to provide a second new redatuming dataset; and c. redatuming the combination of a first causal part of the first new redatuming dataset and an anti-causal second part of the second redatuming dataset to go from the target horizon back to the surface using hyperbolic one-way traveltime operators to provide a dataset that is referenced to the surface without an imprint of the anomaly.

Embodiments of the present invention disclose a pre-coding method and a transmitter used in a distributed multiple input multiple output (MIMO) system. The method comprises that a dual interference channel is constructed, an interference alignment iterative calculation is performed on a pre-coding matrix in an original channel by utilizing the transformation relationship between the dual interference channel and an original interference channel; on the one hand, as the times of iterative calculation increases, the calculated pre-coding matrix in the original channel can gradually converge, and on the other hand, the total mean square error (MSE) of the interference channel system calculated from the pre-coding matrix of the original channel obtained according to the final calculation also tends to the minimum, so that the minimum of the MSE is achieved, and the mutual interference of the signals between different users is reduced.

A method for sorting large volumes of seismic data portions (206) into a defined order in which the data portions (206) are allocated to leaf files (S7) of a B-Tree structure and stored in a corresponding scratch memory space (S3, 210) corresponding to the allocated leaf file; a full leaf file is read out into a sorting memory space (S13, 214) wherein it is sorted into a respective suborder. The sources of microseismic hydraulic fracture events ("hydro-fracs") are located for image mapping by the calculation of Green's functions G(x, z, t|x', z', O) which is estimated using, e.g., RVSP, VSP, SWD and/or surface data, with the Green's functions used as migration kernels with greater accuracy than the prior art techniques, e.g. the diffraction limit, because all of the natural arrivals in the data are utilized.
Abstract:
A system and method use 2D and 3D numerical gradient operators for reducing anisotropic inaccuracies in digital image processing. Enhanced isotropic operators are derived by first parameterizing corresponding numerical operators, followed by determining the parameters for the operators by matching analytical gradients with numerical gradients, which produces generic frequency-independent operators. The system and method also optimize the design of operators for use at any given frequency range needed for any special purpose application.

The invention generally features compositions and methods for expanding long term hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) in a population of cells. In particular, the invention relates to a method of expanding long term HSCs by culturing an initial population of HSCs with macrophages that promote self-renewal of long term HSCs. The expanded cell population provides a source of cells for therapeutic treatments utilizing HSC transplantation.
