    Abstract: To provide a road surface marking material excellent in visibility in the case of rainy weather and durability. A road surface marking material comprising: a substrate layer of a thermally fusible composition containing a thermoplastic binder, a body material, and a coloring material; retro-reflective elements fixed in the substrate layer, having a particle diameter of 500 μm to 2,000 μm, and comprising a core material, a binder layer formed on a surface of the core material, and high refractive and transparent fine particles having a refractive index between 2.0 and 2.5 and fixed in the binder layer; and low refractive and transparent fine particles fixed in the substrate layer, having a refractive index between 1.5 and 2.0 and a particle diameter of 100 μm to 1,000 μm.

    Abstract: A temporary marking material comprises a thermally-expansible layer containing a binder, a pigment and thermally-expansible microballs, and a pavement marker comprises the temporary marking material. Both the temporary marking material and the pavement maker hardly peel off or move during the use, and when they become unnecessary, they can be easily peeled off by heating from the structure in a short time by virtue of the expanded microballs. When the temporary marking material is in practical use, the thermally-expansible layer is disposed on the surface of a structure. The pavement marker is disposed on the pavement as part of a surface of the structure.
