Abstract:
An applicator (100), related applicator system, and a method for delivering a self-adhesive material are provided. The applicator (100) includes an outer surface (120), and an inner surface (110) opposite the outer surface (120). The inner surface (110) of the applicator (100) defines a void (114) that is operable to receive the self-adhesive material (130). At least a portion of the inner surface (110) releasably adhere the applicator side of the self-adhesive material where the adhesive force between the portion of the inner surface and the applicator side being less than adhesive force between the substrate and the substrate side. The applicator (110) is used by placing the applicator (100) in contact with a substrate, pressing the applicator (100) against the substrate such that the self-adhesive material (130) adheres to the substrate, and releasing the applicator (110) from the substrate.
Abstract:
A nozzle is provided for dispensing a liquid from a container (12) in a desirable, nearly rectangular spray pattern. The nozzle includes an actuator (48) having an inlet end (52) adapted to receive liquid from the container (12) and an outlet end (58), the actuator outlet end defining an outlet chamber (76). An insert (60) is coupled to the actuator outlet end and defines an insert passage in fluid communication with the outlet chamber (76). The insert (60) includes at least a first convex shoulder (90) disposed downstream of the outlet chamber, and a nozzle outlet disposed downstream of the first convex shoulder (90). The convex shoulder (90) may have a radius of curvature and side walls may be provided at an angel of convergence. The radius of curvature and the angle of convergence may be provided within certain ranges to obtain the desired spray pattern at the desired flow rate using typical aerosol can pressures.
Abstract:
A candle assembly includes a support base with a melting plate upon which a meltable solid fuel rests and a wick holder to hold a wick and engage the meltable solid fuel. The candle assembly further includes a control unit having at least one electrical component to control a light emitting system.
Abstract:
An actuator overcap for producing multiple spray patterns includes a cap having a hub with a lower surface defining a socket and an upper surface defining a chamber fluidly communicating with the socket. First and second barrels extend between the hub and a side wall of the cap to define first and second flow paths. A trigger is pivotably coupled to the cap and includes a seal support. A selector is coupled to the trigger, and includes a user-engageable pad and a seal. The seal is configured to closely fit within the hub chamber and defines a central aperture fluidly communicating with the hub chamber and a first notch extending radially outwardly from and fluidly communicating with the central aperture. The trigger and selector are pivotable with respect to the cap to place the first notch in fluid communication with one of the first and second flow paths.

Abstract:
A replacement device for a light bulb includes a translucent shell and a base. The base supports a plurality of colored lights positioned so as to emit a light show through the shell. The base is configured to be received in a conventional light socket. The base also includes a compartment for receiving and securing a replaceable volatile active cartridge for enabling the device to emit an active ingredient from the cartridge when the cartridge is secured in the compartment. A dimmable white light source may also provided in the shell as a source of illumination. Thus, a single device is used as a replacement for a conventional light bulb and is a combination white light source/colored light show source/volatile active source.
Abstract:
A candle fuel element includes a wick-holder assembly having a longitudinally disposed wick spaced from a heat-conductive element and a first solid fuel charge disposed between the wick and the heat-conductive element. A second solid fuel charge slidably engages and at least partly surrounds the wick-holder assembly. The heat-conductive element is disposed between the first solid fuel charge and the second solid fuel charge. The heat-conductive element defines a lateral opening adapted to allow fluid communication between the first solid fuel charge and the second solid fuel charge.
Abstract:
An automatic discharge device comprises a housing (20) adapted to receive a container (60) therein. An actuator arm (30) is attached to the housing and movable between first and second positions. The actuator arm includes a dispensing bore (324) therein. A drive unit (40) is provided for automatically moving the actuator arm (30) into one of the first and second positions in response to a signal from at least one of a timer, a sensor, and a manual switch. The actuator arm (30) is adapted to engage and actuate a nozzle of the container (60) in the first position and allow a fluid disposed in an interior of the container (60) to be dispensed through the nozzle and the dispensing bore (324) of the actuator arm.
Abstract:
A collar (210, 320) is secured to a conventional container (100) such that the collar (210, 320) obstructs the coupled use of the conventional container (100) and a conventional medicinal dispenser (990). The collar (210, 320) is secured to the container at a canister portion (110) of the conventional container (100) or at a valve assembly portion (120) of the conventional container (100). The collar (210, 320) may further include a spray tip (429).
Abstract:
A device 10 for selectively dispensing ones of multiple fluids, preferably cleaning agents, is disclosed. The device includes a reservoir 50 that holds a diluent "D" therein and a housing 20 that includes a main body segment 22 and a head segment 26. A container assembly 100 may be held between the main body and head segments 22, 26. The container assembly may include at least one container body 105, 110, 112, 114, 116. Each container body 105, 110, 112, 114, 116 houses a concentrate "C", for example, a concentrated form of a cleaning or other agent therein. The diluent "D" and concentrates "C" are kept separate from each other, whereby no end use product is stored in the device 10. Instead, end use product is mixed on demand during dispensation.
