Abstract:
The present invention provides a picture coding apparatus which can reduce a load in decoding. A picture coding apparatus (200) includes: a motion estimation unit (201) and a motion compensation unit (202) which codes each picture according to a picture type of the picture; an information generation unit (213) which generates a map that indicates a still picture sequence in a random access unit which includes a plurality of coded pictures; and a variable length coding unit (211) which writes, into the random access unit, the map that is generated by the information generation unit (213).
Abstract:
A picture coding apparatus (10) which generates a stream so as to be able to decode a picture by obtaining a picture parameter set necessary for decoding the picture even at the time of trick-play, the apparatus including: a slice coding unit (11) which codes the picture and generates coded data; a picture parameter set (PPS) generation unit (13) which generates sequence parameter set (SPS); a PPS generation unit (16) which generates the PPS; and an access unit (AU) determination unit 17 which stores pieces of coded data respectively into access units of a random access unit (RAU) and stores the SPS into a first AU, and stores the PPS into the first AU or into the AU in which one piece of the coded data that refers to the PPS is stored.
Abstract:
A stream generation apparatus of the present invention is a stream generation apparatus which generates a stream including coded pictures and a command for managing a buffer which holds a decoded picture, the command being added to one of the coded pictures as a reference picture. It includes a judging unit which judges whether or not the coded picture to which the command is added is skipped at the time of trick-play, an adding unit which adds, in the case where the coded picture is judged to be skipped, repetition information indicating the same contents as the command to another coded picture that follows, in decoding order, the coded picture judged to be skipped and that is not skipped at the time of the trick-play, and a generating unit which generates the stream including the coded pictures, the command and the repetition information.
Abstract:
To provide a moving picture stream generation apparatus and the like that generates a moving picture stream that can be played back in trick-play such as variable-speed playback and reverse playback even in a coding format such as the MPEG-4 AVC in which flexible prediction structures are allowed. A moving picture stream generation apparatus includes: a trick-play information generation unit TricPlay for generating supplemental information on a random access unit basis, the supplemental information being referred to at the time of playback of each random access unit and each random access unit including one or more pictures; and a variable length coding unit VLC for generating a stream including the generated supplemental information and the one or more pictures by adding the supplemental information to each corresponding random access unit. At the top of each random access unit, an intra coded picture that can be decoded without depending on any picture is placed, and the supplemental information includes information for specifying pictures to be decoded at the time when pictures included in each random access unit are played back in trick-play.
Abstract:
A BD-ROM stores a video stream and a graphics stream. The video stream represents a moving picture. The graphics stream is used for overlaying a multi-page menu on the moving picture, and includes interactive control information (ICS) and graphics data (ODS) used for generating the multi page menu. A PTS attached to a PES packet containing the interactive control information shows timing for the first presentation of a main page the multi-page menu in accordance with the proceeding of the video stream playback. In addition, the interactive control information includes information (selection_time_out_pts) showing a timeout upon which a button on a page of the multi-page menu is automatically activated, and information (user_time_out_duration) showing a timeout upon which a sub-page of the multi-page menu is automatically removed.
Abstract:
Provided is a generating apparatus that generates a DVD-Video volume image, and a BD-ROM volume image, that each have: a digital stream, path information, and a jump table, where in the respective digital streams, a button command to be executed by a playback apparatus, in playing back the digital stream, is incorporated. A BD-scenario generating apparatus 7 obtains path information, a jump table, and a button command, which are for the BD-ROM, by converting any one of the description schemes for the path information, the jump table, and the button command for the DVD-Video.
Abstract:
An AV Clip generated by multiplexing video and graphics streams is recorded on a BD-ROM. The graphics stream includes a plurality of DSs (Display Sets) which are each used for graphics display. The DS includes graphics data and a control segment that includes time stamps (DTS and PTS) for designating an active period of the control segment in the DS on a reproduction time axis of the video stream. When the active period of the control segment in the DS overlaps with an active period of a control segment in an immediately preceding DS, the time stamps designate the active period of the control segment in the DS to start at or after a time at which, during the active period of the control segment in the immediately preceding DS, transfer of graphics generated by decoding graphics data in the immediately preceding DS to an Object Buffer is completed.
Abstract:
An authoring system wherein various processes are applied to a bit stream which conveys information including moving picture data, audio data and auxiliary picture data which constitute titles each having a series of correlated contents, a bit stream is generated in order to produce a title which has a content meeting the request of the user, the generated bit stream is efficiently recorded on a predetermined recording medium, and the title content which meets the request of the user is further reproduced from the generated bit stream. The user inputs through input means such as a keyboard the edit of the content of the multimedia bit stream which is source data, the inputted content of edit is converted into authoring encode parameters, it is judged whether or not the content of edit satisfies the conditions specified by the data structure etc. based upon the authoring system or not, and, if not, the judgement is fed back to the user to prompt the user to input the edit information again.
Abstract:
A plurality of video streams and STN_table are recorded in the local storage 200. Each of the plurality of video streams is a secondary video stream to be played together with a primary video stream, and includes picture data representing a child image to be displayed in Picture in Picture that is composed of a parent image and the child image. In the STN_table, entries of secondary video streams that are permitted to be played are described in the order of priority.
