Abstract:
Systems and methods for recording multiple broadcast television programs to a single file may include receiving user selection for recording a first media content and a second media content, determining the first media content and the second media content are provided on a single television service, and tuning to the television service to receive the first media content via a tuner of the television receiver. The systems and methods may include recording the first media content as a first permanent recording to a master file, receiving the second media content via the tuner of the television receiver, and recording the second media content as a second permanent recording to the master file.

Abstract:
A method is described for selecting and displaying, on or through a television signal receiver apparatus (1) capable of connecting to Internet (10) and of pointing to URL's (21), television programs (19) transmitted through an Internet network (10), said method comprises the step of associating at least one URL (21), or Uniform Resource Locator, corresponding to streaming audio/video of a specific television program (19), with the same television program (19) of an EPG (17), or Electronic Program Guide, received by said apparatus (1) via television broadcast, and wherein said association requires that said URL (21) be stored into a memory-type processing circuit (8) of the apparatus (1) to create a link between said specific television program (19) received through said Internet network (10) and the same specific television program (19) of said EPG (17) received by said television receiver apparatus (1) via television broadcast.
Abstract:
Abstract:
An intelligent television can provide various interfaces for navigating processes associated with providing content. The user interfaces include unique visual representations and organizations that allow the user to utilize the intelligent television more easily and more effectively. Particularly, the user interfaces' layout, aspect ratio of elements, display of elements, and size of selectable images are dependent on the type of content presented. Further, the user interfaces provide unique process of transitioning between the content.
Abstract:
An intelligent television and methods for user interaction between the intelligent television and the user are provided. In general, a user is provided with navigation, notification, and setup options which enable one or more functions associated with the intelligent television. The presentation of options is based on input received by the intelligent television. As a user provides input to the intelligent television via a remote control or other input device, the intelligent television is configured to interpret the input and provide interactive functionality in the form of content presented to the display of the intelligent television.
Abstract:
A method, system, and executable instructions are provided that, in a first mode, display, on the television screen, a thumbnail preview comprising EPG information associated with the selected program and the graphical image, wherein the selected program corresponds to an in focus program in a listing of EPG information for multiple channels and/or programs and wherein the graphical image is not related with a currently viewed program and in a second mode, display, on the television screen, a header bar, the header bar comprising EPG information associated with the selected program and the graphical image, wherein the selected program corresponds to a currently viewed program and is not related to an in focus program in a listing of EPG information for multiple channels and/or programs.
Abstract:
An Intelligent TV can receive a selection associated with an item of content or the content source associated with a television display. Based on the selection, the Intelligent TV can associate a badge with the item of content or the content source. The badge is a user interface device having visual indicia that indicates the item of content or the content source includes a feature, a state, or a designation. The badge can indicate that the program or the content source is a favorite, is new, or has been previously viewed. Further, the Intelligent TV can receive a second selection for a user interface containing information about the item of content or the content source. Based on the second selection, the Intelligent TV can present both the information about and the badge associated with the item of content or the content source.
Abstract:
A system, method, and computer instructions is provided to render an on screen channel changer on a television. A request is received from a user to activate the on screen channel changer. An on screen channel changer for an Intelligent TV may include a display of a number bar, miniature (mini) electronic program guide (EPG), a dynamic EPG, and a program preview. The EPG information comes from EPG information sources including EPG information embedded in a content feed from a cable provider and EPG information from an internet source. The EPG information displayed can include a schedule of past, current, and upcoming TV programs. The on screen channel changer may be displayed on top of a TV program currently being viewed. The user changes the channel by making a channel number selection using the on screen channel changer.
