Abstract:
A tarpaulin comprising a fabric coated with a plastics material, preferably PVC, polyamide or polyprene, is provided with a decoration of a reflecting material by anchoring a reflecting sheet to a piece of tarpaulin cloth, whose plastics coating is of the same type as or is compatible with that of the tarpaulin, by high frequency welding or heat application, and then applying the piece of tarpaulin cloth provided with reflecting sheet, optionally formed in the desired shape, to the tarpaulin by hot air fusion. The reflecting sheet is preferably a retroreflecting PVC sheet of the naked prism type which is anchored to the piece of tarpaulin cloth by high frequency welding. Other types of reflective sheet may be applied to the piece of tarpaulin or directly to the tarpaulin by means of an adhesive and anchored thereto by placing a transparent flexible polymeric film on top of the reflecting sheet with its edges extending beyond those of the sheet and high frequency welding it to the piece of tarpaulin or the tarpaulin itself along the edges.
Abstract:
A reflecting device for use on bicycles, mopeds or the like means of transport is adapted to be secured on a valve on the wheel of the means of transport. The device is oblong and symmetrically shaped about a plane substantially coinciding with the radial central plane of the wheel when the device is mounted. The device comprises a bore adapted to receive the major portion of the valve. In this manner it is by means of a very light and inexpensive, reflecting device possible to provide a side reflection without involving unbalance-causing forces. According to a preferred embodiment, the valve may be symmetrically shaped with respect to rotation about a longitudinal axis and be provided with a stepwise shaped inner bore (3). This bore permits securing of the same device to different valve types by means of friction.
Abstract:
A transducer pad for detecting enuresis nocturna (incontinence of urine) may be connected to an alarm (11), comprising a sensor (2) which, according to the invention, is made as a disposable item consisting of a non-woven material (8) having printed thereon two conductor paths. The transducer pad (2) may be constructed as part of a sheet, a diaper, briefs or a sanitary towel.
Abstract:
For decoration of textiles and the like with patterns comprising highly light-reflecting areas defined by inked areas, a plastisol transfer, produced by printed a desired pattern in mirror-inverted fashion with plastisol ink on a suitable substrate, is coated with an elastomer granulate of a type which is compatible with the plastisol ink and with the surface layer of a reflex transfer film, and the granulate is fused into the plastisol print by heating. Then a reflex transfer film cut to the contour of the pattern is placed with the reflecting side inwards against the elastomer treated plastisol print and adhered to it by brief heating under a quite slight pressure to form a combined plastisol reflex transfer, which is transferred to the textile or the like by conventional heat application. It is also possible first to apply the cut reflex transfer film to the textile or the like in the usual manner and then to apply the elastomer treated plastisol print on top of the reflex film by conventional heat application.
Abstract:
There is provided a light-reflective collar comprising a collar part where at least part of said collar part has a light-reflective top layer. The collar part has an outer side and an inner opening and one or more safety lines running substantially from the outer side to the inner opening of the collar part, the strength of the collar part being weaker along said safety lines than for the surrounding areas of the collar part. The collar part may have at least two safety lines, and the collar part may be tearable along said at least two safety lines. The collar part may have two substantially oppositely arranged safety lines, and the collar may be divided in at least a first and a second collar part when the collar part across each said two safety lines is exposed to a pulling force being larger than or equal to a maximum pulling force. There is further provided a light-reflective collar comprising a collar part and one or more flap parts being bonded together, where the collar part has an inner opening with the area of the inner opening being larger than or equal to the total area of said one or more flap parts, and where each of said collar part and said one or more flap parts are made of a multilayer arrangement comprising a flexible base layer and an at least partly translucent, light-reflective and flexible top layer being bonded to the base layer.
