Abstract:
A material handling apparatus for conveying an article having a ferromagnetic component includes a hopper, a discharge, and a magnet. The hopper has an inlet and outlet and defines a hopper volume for receiving a plurality of the articles to be conveyed. The discharge is spaced from and downstream of the hopper. The magnet is movable between an attracting position proximate the hopper and a discharge position proximate the discharge.
Abstract:
A system and method of wireless voltage reference broadcast in a distributed energy metering system is provided. A voltage reference is determined at a distribution hub for wirelessly and transmitted in voltage reference data frames providing voltage samples and a clock synchronization from an alternating current (AC) line under measurement. Wireless metering units, each coupled to an AC load circuit, receive the voltage reference data frames wherein the current sampling clock of the wireless metering units are synchronized to a voltage sampling clock of the distribution hub for determining current samples from the respective AC load circuit to calculate energy data parameters.
Abstract:
A video server is configured to provide streaming video to players of computer games over a computing network. The video server can provided video of different games to different players simultaneously. This is accomplished by rendering several video streams in parallel using a single GPU. The output of the GPU is provided to graphics processing pipelines that are each associated with a specific client/player and are dynamically allocated as needed. A client qualifier may be used to assure that only clients capable of presenting the streaming video to a player at a minimum level of quality receive the video stream.
Abstract:
Pharmaceutical compounds and derivatives, pharmaceutical compositions containing such compounds and the use of such compounds to elevate certain plasma lipid levels, including high density lipoprotein-cholesterol and to lower certain other plasma lipid levels, such as LDL-cholesterol and triglycerides and accordingly to treat diseases which are exacerbated by low levels of HDL cholesterol and/or high levels of LDL-cholesterol and triglycerides, such as atherosclerosis and cardiovascular diseases in some mammals, including humans.
Abstract:
Multimodal/multispectral images of a population of cells are simultaneously collected (402). Photometric and/or morphometric features identifiable in the images (404) are used to separate the population of cells into a plurality of subpopulations. Where the population of cells includes diseased cells and healthy cells, the images can be separated into a healthy subpopulation, and a diseased subpopulation (408). Where the population of cells does not include diseased cells, one or more ratios of different cell types in patients not having a disease condition can be compared to the corresponding ratios in patients having the disease condition, enabling the disease condition to be detected. For example, blood cells can be separated into different types based on their images, and an increase in the number of lymphocytes, a phenomenon associated with chronic lymphocytic leukemia, can readily be detected.
Abstract:
An archival cartridge management system for conditioning removable data cartridges and normal archival operations is disclosed. The archival cartridge management system includes a cartridge holder and a controller. The cartridge holder has a connector configured for coupling to a removable data cartridge. The connector is coupled to the controller, which performs archival functions on removable data cartridges. The controller reads from removable data cartridges to determine if at least some data stored on a removable data cartridge should be refreshed. If so, the controller refreshes data stored on the removable data cartridge.

Quinoline compounds, pharmaceutical compositions containing such compounds and the use of such compounds to elevate certain plasma lipid levels, including high density lipoprotein-cholesterol and to lower certain other plasma lipid levels, such as LDL-cholesterol and triglycerides and accordingly to treat diseases which are exacerbated by low levels of HDL cholesterol and/or high levels of LDL-cholesterol and triglycerides, such as atherosclerosis and cardiovascular diseases in some mammals, including humans.
Abstract:
Methods of treating and/or preventing surface infections, such as acne, in an animal, such as a human being, using antibiotics incorporating borinic acid complexes, especially picolinic acid derivatives, are disclosed, along with compositions of these antibiotics.
Abstract:
A nasal assembly (600) for delivering breathable gas to a patient includes a frame (616) having an integrally formed first connector portion (618). A nozzle assembly (604) includes a gusset or base portion and a pair of nozzles. At least one inlet conduit (606) is structured to deliver breathable gas into the frame (616) and nozzle assembly (604) for breathing by the patient. A pair of second connector portions (20, 40, 614, 622, 636) are removably and rotatably connected to respective first connector portions (618) of the frame (616) and are in communication with respective inlet conduits (606), e.g., directly or via angle connectors (612). A headgear assembly (602) is removably connected to the pair of second connector portions (20, 40, 614, 622, 636) and/or the angle connectors (612) so as to maintain the frame (616) and the nozzle assembly (604) in a desired adjusted position on the patient's face.
