A process for crystallizing polyester chips having amorphousness greater than 95 % is disclosed. The process comprises: − providing polyester chips; − heating the polyester chips by a plurality of infrared lamps while being conveyed on a conveyor; and − collecting the infrared heated polyester chips from one operative end of the conveyor; wherein at least one factor selected from a group consisting of the speed of conveyance, the heat emission rate of said infrared lamps, the number of the infrared lamps and the residence time of the polyester chips on the conveyor, is controlled during conveyance, to obtain polyester chips having a degree of crystallization up to 50%.

The present disclosure relates to a process for recovering a polyester component and products of a non-polyester component from an article containing a polyester blend. The polyester blend consists of a polyester component and a non-polyester component. Particularly, the polyester component of the present disclosure is polyethylene terephthalate and the non-polyester component is at least one selected from the group consisting of cotton and viscose. The process of the present disclosure includes hydrolyzing the article using at least one hydrolyzing agent having pH ranging from 7 to 14 to obtain a first mixture containing the polyester component, the non-polyester component, optionally, products of the non-polyester component and the hydrolyzing agent. This is followed by incubating the first mixture using at least one enzyme selected from the group consisting of cellulase and pectinase to further convert the non-polyester component into products of the non-polyester component thereby releasing the polyester component.

The present disclosure relates to a single-pot multi step process for the preparation of a shape controlled pro-catalyst. The process comprises the steps of: i. reacting magnesium metal and at least one alkanol to obtain spheroidal magnesium alkoxide; ii. treating the spheroidal magnesium alkoxide with at least one transition metal tetrahalide, at least one organic modifier, and optionally, at least one in-organic modifier in the presence of at least one solvent to obtain a reaction mixture; iii. cooling, settling the reaction mixture and decanting the supernatant; iv. adding at least one transition metal tetrahalide, at least one solvent and optionally, at least one organic or inorganic modifier; and v. iterating steps (iii) and (iv) to obtain the shape controlled pro-catalyst.

The present disclosure relates to a gypsum based composition containing gypsum in an amount ranging from 50 to 99.9 % of the total weight of the composition and at least one polyester based reinforcing material having length ranging from 3 to 6 mm and linear mass density ranging from 1.5 to 12 Denier, in an amount ranging from 0.01 to 20% of the total weight of the composition. The present disclosure further relates to a gypsum based composite, prepared from the afore-stated gypsum based composition, having flexural strength ranging from 92 to 98.5 Kg/ cm2. The composite of the present disclosure is at least one selected from the group consisting of boards, walls, plinths, slabs, columns, sheets, casts and shafts.

The present disclosure provides a process for the reduction of residual acidity of halogenated polymer. The process involves treating the halogenated polymer to a physical process such as rotary vacuum drying and then neutralizing the treated halogenated polymer with alkaline metal salt solutions. The process requires less quantity of an economic neutralizing agent /base during chemical treatment, thus improving process economy without prejudicing quality of the final halogenated polymer.
