Abstract:
A curtain suspension device comprises an arm (12, 13, 14) mounted into a wall fixture (11) in such a manner that it can be swung. The arm has a joint (13) at the centre that allows the outer part (14) of the arm to pivot such that it lies adjacent to the inner part (12) of the arm, The arm is arranged to support one broad panel curtain (30) or two narrower panel curtains (25, 26, 27) and can be swung in its wall fixture by 180°.
Abstract:
For making a cornice, one forms a tube (12) of one of more thin plastic strips and attaches the tube to a conventional curtain rod (11) by a tape with adhesive on both sides. Textile can be adhered to the plastic strip before the tube is formed.
Abstract:
A roller blind has an operating mechanism in the form of an elongated pulling means running over a wheel (11) so as to form two strands (21, 22; 24, 25). This pulling means may be, e.g. a ball chain (20) or a plain cord (23) and the wheel may be a cog-wheel. The cord and the wheel are adapted in such a manner that the cord slips on the wheel when one of the strands is pulled except when a counterforce is applied to the other trailing strand.
Abstract:
A valance (17) is draped on a curtain rod (11) by being pulled through three pairs of curtain rings (12, 13) on the rod. The rings (12, 13) in each pair of rings are interconnected by means of three plastic clips (14, 15) that are displaceable along the rings. With the three clips moved adjacent one another, the rings can be at an angle so that it will be easy to pull out the valance in a bow between the rings. When the clips are again spread along the rings, the valance will be held between the rings in each pair of rings. The two outer pairs of rings are held in place by the attachments for the curtain rod.
Abstract:
The gliders for a panel curtain hanger have a gliding member (33) at its one end and a through slot (50) at its other end. A recess (51) in the interior of the slot extends from one end of the slot but is not through. A ball chain (55, 63, 64, 65) is fastened in the glider by inserting a part of the cord located between two balls in the slot and then drawing a ball into the recess so that the ball get caught. In this way, one end of a panel curtain hanger (60, 61) is coupled to both ends of adjacent panel curtain hangers so that coupled motion is obtained between the panel curtain hangers.
Abstract:
A curtain suspension arrangement for hanging curtains flatly comprises one or more elongate hanger (14), each arranged to carry a flatly hanging curtain. The hangers have hooks (15, 16) at their both ends arranged to be put into curtain rod rings (12, 13) on a conventional curtain rod (11) so that the hangers will be slideable along the curtain rod. Each hanger (14) consists of a steel rod that has its ends bent to form said hooks (15, 16).
Abstract:
A suspension hook for curtains is adapted to be put on a curtain rod to be slideable thereon. It is made of a steel wire and it has a rear leg bent to form a U-formed hook (16, 17) and a front leg that has a wide lower portion that is formed as a spiral (18) and is adjacent the U-formed hook. When the U-formed hook is in two tunnels in a plaeating tape of a curtain, the spiral flattens the curtain fold formed by the U-formed hook and makes the curtain fall more decoratively than it would otherwise do.
Abstract:
A display of elongate objects (15), e.g., curtain rods and roller blinds, is provided by placing the objects in upwardly open cartons (10), which are lower than the objects so that the upper parts of the objects are visible, and putting carton casings (16) over the cartons and placing the cartons on a standard pallet (17) for transportation to the shop, the dimensions of the cartons being adapted so that a number of cartons fit on the pallet. Upon the delivery to shop, the casings are lifted off in order to expose the objets. Thus , a combined display and package system is provided.
Abstract:
A domestic article, for example a valet, a lamp foot, a curtain rod, or a curtain tie back is bent into shape from a straight and stiff but bendable rope. The rope is made up of a steel tube as a core around which a number of strands of hemp or the like are firmly twisted simultaneously with each strand being firmly twisted around itself. The ends of the strands are firmly fixed to the tube and because of the frictional interaction between the strands and the core, the rope will be stiffer than the core. The rope will be bendable and the tube will substantially maintain its cross section in the bends.
Abstract:
The core of a piece of a conventional rope is withdrawn and a stiff rod is inserted as a new core (6). The stiff rod (6) may have a dry coating of a thermosetting glue so that the strands (7-9) will be fixed to it when heated. The decorative rod can be used for example as a curtain rod, as a curtain tie-back, or as a hand rail.
