Abstract:
A system method for providing an authentication code across a network for use in authentication of documents, such as printed lottery tickets. The system includes document-printing terminals that create a first key and a second key, with the first key used to generate an authentication code for printing on the document, and the second key is sent to a central server and usable to verify that the first key created the authentication code. The central server can also provide ticket serial numbers for tickets being dispensed at the terminals and the first key can be combined with the serial number and other secondary data to create the authentication code.
Abstract:
The invention is a system and method for hosting a multi-matrix game where a player makes selection from two matrices and the winning numbers are also drawn from these two matrices. Matches are allowed between the player's selection from one matrix and the winning numbers selected from a different matrix.
Abstract:
A method for hosting and playing a lottery game using nostalgic game themes. The lottery game, in one embodiment emulating Pac-Man®, comprises a player selecting a path on a grid, and a lottery populating the path with numbers either generated randomly or selected by the player. The lottery also randomly places few ghosts on the same grid. A set of player indicia is determined by the numbers on the path before the path intercept with one or more ghosts. The set of player indicia is then compared with a set of winning indicia and the player receives a prize depending on the number of matches between the player indicia and winning indicia.
Abstract:
A method of embedding an optical signature in a document and document produced therefrom. The optical signature is an optical pattern generated from a known value, such as a mathematical, geometric, trigonometric, size, phase, and the like, and the same value can be generated from examination of a document having the embedded optical pattern. The document can be validated, authenticated, or the determination of a valid copy of an original document with the embedded optical signature made through comparison of the known value and the value generated from the optical pattern on the document. The optical pattern can also be generated from other identification codes on the document.
Abstract:
A scratch-off lottery ticket or game card, and method of play. The game card is a paper substrate with a play area defined thereon and a first set of play indicia is printed directly on the substrate and a first scratch-off covering is applied at least partially over the first set of indicia. In one embodiment, a series of game play spot indicators is also marked on the exterior surface of the scratch-off covering over the first set of indicia and a coordinate area is defined on the substrate on which a set second set of play indicia is variably imaged, and the second set of play indicia includes at least one game play spot selection indicia, and a second scratch off covering is at least partially over the coordinate area.
Abstract:
A method for hosting a word-based lottery game having a plurality of players is disclosed. A player selects a plurality of cells from a playslip and these cells will be converted to a plurality of letters and symbols by a lottery game machine. The player will use these letters and symbols along with one or more letter(s) drawn by the lottery to form words and compare these words with a list of words. For each formed word that is on the list, a point is awarded and extra bonus points may be awarded to some special words. The total points obtained by the player is compared with a prize table and the player is awarded a prize according to the prize table.
Abstract:
A lottery game with a capped jackpot prize and increasing raffle prize is provided. The lottery game is set with an initial jackpot prize. If there is no jackpot winner for the lottery game for a drawing, the jackpot is increased until the jackpot is at least equal to a predefined value. For each subsequent drawing, a raffle prize is set and a raffle number is printed on each lottery ticket. The raffle prize is not distributed until a jackpot winner is determined.
Abstract:
A lottery game played on an electronic game machine using a pre-printed lottery ticket is disclosed. The lottery ticket is embedded with game and prize information that can be read by the game machine. After inserting the lottery ticket into the game machine, the player may play a game using the game machine based upon the information on the lottery ticket. If the player is a winner, an award is given to the player. The player can redeem the award for cash with the lottery authority.
Abstract:
There is provided a lottery game with a supplemental game. The player plays the lottery game by selecting a plurality of numbers and the player also has the option of playing the supplemental game. The lottery authority selects a set of winning numbers for the lottery game and also selects a set of supplemental numbers. If the player has opted to play the supplemental game, his numbers will not only be compared with the winning numbers but also with the supplemental numbers. The total number of matches between the player's numbers and winning numbers and supplemental numbers determines the player's prize.
