Abstract:
The present invention provides a method and system that improve the low-speed control stability of a video camera assembly, including a video camera, a tilt motor operable to tilt the video camera and a pan motor operable to pan the video camera. A first encoder is coupled to one of the tilt motor and pan motor. The first encoder outputs a plurality of signals having corresponding signal edges, based on a rotation speed of the one of the tilt motor and pan motor. A first controller is in electrical communication with the first encoder. The first controller determines a speed of the one of the tilt motor and pan motor at least in part by correlating a time period between detection of the first edge and detection of the second edge to the speed of the at least one tilt motor and pan motor.

The tag comprises a housing (114,116) holding a tack retaining system including a wedge (1202R) and a biasing member (1302).
Abstract:
A method and system for exchanging data between one or more RFID readers and one or more non-tag devices in an RFID system using RFID air interface protocol. An RFID system includes one or more non-tag devices in data communication with one or more RFID readers over an interrogation zone. Non-tag devices utilize RFID air interface protocol to transmit and receive wireless data signals to and from the RFID readers, obviating the need to implement a separate communication infrastructure. The RFID readers may forward the data to an RFID backscatter enabled host computer for processing the received signals. Non-tag devices acting as readpoints communicate with other non-tag devices to establish a parent/child readpoint hierarchy. One or more multiplexers may facilitate the data exchange between RFID readers and the non-tag devices in order to provide an even more robust communication network.
Abstract:
A method, system and computer program product for filtering a RFID signal. At least one pre-operational interference signal is measured. Amplitude and frequency data are extracted from the at least one measured pre-operational interference signal. At least one filter-dependent parameter is computed based at least in part on the extracted amplitude and frequency data extracted from the measured at least one pre-operational interference signal. A table is generated during a pre-operational mode. The table has at least one set of filter coefficients based on the computed at least one filter-dependent parameter.
Abstract:
A method and system for processing radio frequency identification ("RFID") communication device data, the method and system including measuring an energy level of a RFID signal received on a first communication channel, measuring an energy level of the RFID signal received on a second communication channel, selecting the communication channel with the greater energy level, and acquiring data samples from the RFID signal received on the selected channel. The method and system for processing RFID communication device data can further include generating a preamble from a series of the acquired data samples.
Abstract:
A method, device and system for radio frequency identification ("RFID") performance analysis. An analyzer for analyzing the performance of an RFID reader is provided. The analyzer has an interface in communication with the reader. A processor is in communication with the interface. The processor operates to use the interface to monitor communication with the reader and/or simulate one or more RFID tags. Abstract:
A method, system and apparatus for generating a cancellation signal in a RFID reader to isolate a transmit section and a receive section of a RFID reader, where the RFID reader generates a local reference signal from a broadcast transmit signal, receives a receive signal from a remote device, determines at least one correction factor, e.g., an amplitude correction factor, to generate a cancellation signal. The method, system and apparatus can further include combining a cancellation signal and a receive signal to minimize or cancel out interference and noise on the receive signal.

A method and system for exchanging data between one or more RFID readers and one or more EAS system devices in an RFID system using RFID air interface protocol. An RFID system includes one or more EAS system devices in data communication with one or more RFID readers over an interrogation zone. EAS system devices utilize RFID air interface protocol to transmit wireless data signals, which may include alarm event data, to the RFID readers, obviating the need to implement a separate communication infrastructure. The RFID readers may forward the alarm event data to an RFID backscatter enabled, host computer for processing the received signals. The host computer may then schedule further interrogation of inventory items at locations where an alarm event has occurred. One or more multiplexers may facilitate the data exchange between RFID readers and the EAS system devices in order to provide an even more robust communication network.
Abstract:
A system and method for transferring power using a data communications signal line. The data communications signal line is in a high impedance powerless state when idle. A main device is electrically coupled to the data communications signal line. The main device generates and transmits a signal on the data communications signal line. The signal includes power generation and non-power generation characters. A peripheral device is electrically coupled to the data communications signal line. The peripheral device has a functional unit arranged to perform a desired function for the peripheral device. A power conversion module is electrically coupled to the data communications- signal line and receives the signal. The power conversion module converts power from the received signal to a form suitable for storage. A controller is in electrical communication with the functional unit and the power conversion module. The controller receives the power generation and non-power generation characters, strips the power generation characters from the signal and transmits the non-power generation characters to the functional unit.
Abstract:
An identification/surveillance device including a tag portion and a tack. The tack includes a button and a pin having a dull end and a sharp end. The identification/surveillance device is secured to an article to be identified/surveilled by inserting the pin through the article and engaging the pin with the tag portion. The dull end of the pin is releasably engaged with either the button or the tag portion such that when the identification/surveillance device is removed from the article the sharp end of the pin remains engaged with either the tag portion or the button and only the dull end of the pin is exposed.
