A flywheel module 5.1 comprises a flywheel F as well as a speed transforming device I 1 which has a first in/output Ii which is connected to the flywheel F, and a second in/output I 2 which is coupled to a drive line of a vehicle 11. The speed transforming device I has a bypass speed transforming device P and a motor and/or generator MG. Energy can then be exchanged with the flywheel F by suitably controlling the motor and/or generator MG. As a result of the delivery of a negative torque by the motor and/or generator, the flywheel F accelerates and because of the delivery of a positive torque by the motor and/or generator the flywheel decelerates.
Abstract:
A vehicle has an engine E that drives the wheels W via a drive line, with therein an automatically operated clutch CL and an automatically operated manual transmission AMT. The vehicle also has a planetary gear P, which is connected to the drive line via two rotation bodies r 1 and r 2 . The third rotation body r 3 is connected to supports, which are formed by a flywheel F and/or a brake B. In a method for regulating the drive torque T d to the wheels W, the engine torque T e is either not lowered to zero or less or this is done for only a fraction of the time that the clutch is activated when the clutch CL is disengaged, during the disengagement, and is engaged in order to change the gear ratio.

The transmission module (5) is built up of a bypass transmission (7) with connected supporting devices (9) for the support of torque, a transmission (11), a torque converter (13) and several clutches (15, 17) and reductions R 1 , R 2 , R 3 . The bypass transmission (7) has three rotation bodies c, a, s and is made as a planetary gear. The third rotation body s can be connected via a clutch (15) to the supporting devices (9), which are formed by a flywheel. The first rotation body c is connected via the torque converter (13) to the drive source (3), and via a drive clutch (17) to an ingoing shaft (21) of the transmission (11). The second rotation body a finally is connected via a first and third reduction R 1 and R 3 to an outgoing shaft (23) of the transmission (11) and the outgoing shaft (23) can be connected via the first and second reduction R 1 , R 2 to the driven wheels L of a vehicle, which are depicted schematically by a rectangle. Each reduction R 1 , R 2 , R 3 is formed by two interlocking gear wheels (35-43), in which the first and third reduction R 1 , R 3 possess a joint gear wheel (37).

The CVT 1 furthermore has transmission means (15) constituted by an intermediate shaft (17) wit h a third and fourth wheel (19, 21) attached to it, being a further pulley (19) and a further gear (21) that meshes with gear (13), as well as a pushbelt (27), that is wrapped around the pulleys (5) and (19). For changing the transmission ratio the CVT 1 has displacement means (29) that can move the intermediate shaft (17) along a circular arc, arrow (33), changing the distance between t he shafts (3) and (17). For moving the shaft (17) it is connected to the shaft (11) through connection means (35). This connection means (35) is connected to the displacement means (29), which can for instance be of the electromechanical type.
