Abstract:
A power system (1) comprising an engine (10) that produces exhaust, a fuel system (20) that injects a fuel into the engine, an aftertreatment system (50) that treats the exhaust, and a controller (71). The aftertreatment system includes an oxidation catalyst (53) that converts NO from the engine into NO2, a particulate filter (54) that traps soot from the engine, and a sensor (73) that provides an indication of the amount of soot in the particulate filter. The controller increases an engine fuel injection pressure when the amount of soot in the particulate filter is above a threshold (106).
Abstract:
A filter media (40) is disclosed. The filter media includes a plurality of channels (46) separated by porous sidewalls (50) extending longitudinally from a first end (44) to a second end (42). The plurality of channels includes a plurality of first channels (46a) and a plurality of second channels (46b). The first channels are open at both the first end and the second end and have a first width. The second channels are closed at the first end and open at the second end and have a second width greater than the first width.
