Abstract:
A liposome comprising a phospholipid, a hydrophobic active comprising a carboxylate group, and a component selected from a group consisting of: a hydrophilic adjuvant comprising a positively charged group, a complex of said hydrophobic active with said hydrophilic adjuvant, and combinations thereof. An aqueous liposome dispersion comprising the liposome, and a personal care composition comprising the liposome. A process of preparing the liposome, comprising the steps of: forming a premix by dissolving a phospholipid, a hydrophobic active comprising a carboxylate group in an organic solvent; evaporating off said organic solvent from the premix to form a phospholipid film; and hydrating said lipid film with a hydration medium comprising a hydrophilic adjuvant comprising a positively charged group and homogenize the medium to form an aqueous liposome dispersion.
Abstract:
A paper structure having at least three regions is disclosed. The paper structure has a first region, a patterned second region, and a third transition region connecting the first and second regions. The first and second regions are disposed at different elevations, and can each have a thickness less than a thickness of the transition region. An apparatus and process for making such a paper structure are also disclosed.
Abstract:
An absorbent article such as a sanitary napkin, having flaps (24) and a recessed area (68) wherein the flaps may be tucked. The recessed area is formed by joining the inward longitudinal edge of the retaining members (78) to the absorbent assembly at a point inboard of the longitudinal edge of the main body portion.
Abstract:
Antidandruff shampoos comprising a surfactant, platelet zinc pyridinethione active of specific particle size, a suspending agent, water, and a synergizer for the active. Said compositions have superior efficacy when compared with antidandruff shampoos known in the art.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to absorbent articles, typically for feminine protection, comprising a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent element positioned between the topsheet and the backsheet. The absorbent article also comprises edge barrier elements for intercepting fluids. The edge barrier elements comprise a liquid absorbent thermoplastic composition comprising a polymeric base material having particles of water-insoluble water-swellable absorbent material dispersed therein, and are provided with a basis weight gradient along their respective width or length in the liquid absorbing thermoplastic composition and/or in the particles of water-insoluble water-swellable absorbent material dispersed therein.
Abstract:
Processes for manufacturing aqueous compositions of peracids are disclosed which comprise the step of forming said peracids by reacting the corresponding anhydrides with a concentrated hydrogen peroxide solution. Preferred herein is a process for manufacturing detergent compositions, especially emulsions containing said peracids.
Abstract:
An absorbent article includes a chassis comprising a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, and at least one elastically elongatable panel joined to the chassis. The elastically elongatable panel includes a stretch laminate that has at least one cover layer, an elastomeric film attached to the cover layer, the elastomeric film having two surfaces and a skin on at least one of the surfaces, and an adhesive disposed between the skin and the cover layer. The stretch laminate has at least one anchoring zone and at least one stretch zone, the skin that is located in the stretch zone has a plurality of wrinkles that are substantially perpendicular to a stretch direction of the stretch laminate, and the wrinkles have furrows, and at least some of the adhesive is disposed in at least some of the furrows.
Abstract:
The present invention provides serine protease variants produced there from. Specifically, the present invention provides serine protease variants having one or more substitutions as compared to a reference serine protease. In addition, the present invention provides compositions comprising these serine protease variants. In some embodiments, the present invention provides cleaning compositions comprising at least one of these serine protease variants.
Abstract:
A granular laundry composition is disclosed which comprises a source of available oxygen, a stabilizer like chelant together with an alkali metal salt of silicate. Such compositions allow to produce wash solutions wherein the bleaching activity is retained upon longer periods of time. Optionally said compositions may further comprise a soil suspender and be formulated so as to allow to keep the pH of the wash solution below 9.5 and thereby boost the cleaning performance on particulate soil (clay).
Abstract:
A detergent composition comprises (a) one or more glyceryl ethers of a C12-C18 alkyl or alkenyl primary or secondary alcohol, at least 50 mole percent of the glyceryl ether being diglyceryl ether and not more than 25 mole percent of the glyceryl being monoglyceryl ether, and (b) an anionic detersive surfactant. The compositions, which may be in granular or liquid form, may also contain other conventional ingredients, e.g. other detersive surfactants, detergency building compounds, enzymes and bleaches.
