    Abstract: The method consists in making the outer and the inner race and the rolling bodies and filling the space between the inner and the outer races, during assembly of the ball bearing, with an antifriction solid-lubricating material in its fluid state. Then the ball bearing is subjected to thermal treatment until full hardening of the solid lubricating material is achieved. All the four lateral surfaces of the cage are formed in the course of hardening, finally giving annular wedge-shaped gaps between the lateral surfaces of the cage and the surfaces of the races with opposed orientation of the wedge vertices. The wedge angles of said gaps correspond to the admissible initial misaligment angle of the bearing race. Then the cage is turned and the bearing is rotated to provide for antifriction material transfer from the cage to the bearing races. The invention may be used for making radial single-row ball bearings intended for use under high temperature and dirty conditions as well as in the presence of water and steam .
