A liquid stirring apparatus (100) comprises a container (102) for receiving liquid to be stirred, a stirrer (32) received within the container (102), a non-contact driving mechanism (105) arranged externally of the container (102) for driving the stirrer (32), and a retaining means (20) arranged within the container (102) for carrying an additive. The retaining means (20) comprises at least one aperture (22) to allow at least part of the additive to be released into the liquid, but to prevent the additive from directly contacting with a bottom surface of the container (102). A stirrer holder (34) for positioning the stirrer (32) within the container (102), wherein the retaining means (20) comprises one or more side walls (45), at least one of the one or more side walls (45) is arranged such that liquid flow above a carrying surface of the retaining means (20) is adapted to be deflected by the at least one of the side walls (45). A stirrer assembly (10) for use in the liquid stirring apparatus (100) is also constructed.

A compact coffee capsule filler appliance(10) for filling coffee capsule cups(90) with a coffee product. It comprises a housing accommodating a plurality of processing stations arranged along a processing pathway. The plurality of processing stations include a ground coffee capsule cup filling station. A capsule cup holder plate(152) is located below said pathway and adapted to hold a plurality of capsule cups(90). The capsule cup holder plate(152) is arranged to move said capsule cups(90) successively past each of said plurality of processing stations whereby each capsule cup(90) is successively filled with ground coffee. The processing pathway forms a closed loop pathway to enable a continuous process of filling capsule cups(90) in the appliance.

The invention provides a method and an appliance for processing a consumable product based on information derived from a social network. The method comprises connecting said domestic appliance to a communications network so that a user of the appliance can exchange information through a social network hosted by said communications network with any other network connected devices and particularly with other users of domestic appliances for processing a consumable product of a same general class or type of consumable product. The user of the domestic appliance may receive information as a result of the exchange of information which adjusts or modifies the operation or performance of their domestic appliance in connection with processing a consumable product of a specific identity, brand and/or specific characteristics.

Provided is a liquid stirring apparatus of the type using a non-contact drive mechanism (4) where the stirrer is driven through a magnetic drive effect without a mechanical connection member intruding through a wall of a container (2) for receiving a liquid to be stirred. The stirrer is received in use within the container (2). The non-connect driving mechanism (4) is arranged externally of the container (2). A holder is provided for positioning the stirrer within the container (2) where the holder is not integrally formed with the container (2), but is a separate component therefrom. The holder is not affixed to the container (2), but locates within the container (2) such that it positions the stirrer adjacent a wall of the container (2) near to the external location of the non-contact drive mechanism (4). The holder is manually removable from the container (2) and the stirrer is manually removable from the holder for cleaning.

A toaster appliance comprises a chamber (24) for receiving a food item to be toasted, and an air flow generating means (40) adapted to generate an air flow. The air flow is directed to at least partially seal or close at least one opening (22) of the chamber to reduce heat dissipation from the opening. Said toaster has a higher energy efficiency and more effective toasting of the food item.

The rotatable receptacle (3.1) has at least one contactless driven member (3.3) positioned within the interior of the cooking vessel (1) adjacent to, but not in contact with an inside of the cooking vessel (1). A contactless drive member (3.3) of a motor unit (4) is located on an exterior of the cooking vessel (1), but not in contact with an outside of the cooking vessel (1). The drive member (3.3) is positioned at an exterior location adjacent to a position of said driven member (3.3). A motor (4.1) of the motor unit (4) drives the driven member (3.3) which, in turn, contactlessly drives the driven member (3.3) to thereby rotate the receptacle (3.1) within the cooking vessel (1).
