Abstract:
The present invention relates to silicone compounds which have photoprotective properties and personal care compositions comprising the same. The present inventors, in developing a sunscreen that gives protection against both UV radiation and visible radiation, found that when certain moieties generally occurring in nature e.g. curcuminoids, polyphenols or flavonoids having uv-visible absorption activity are attached to cross-linked silicone polymers, they provide not only the desired photoprotection but also excellent spreadability on skin.
Abstract:
The application relates to new compounds with switchable properties of structure :(formula 1) where R1 is a group selected from alkyl, branched alkyl, cycloalkyl, polycycloalkyl, heterocycloalkyl, alkaryl, alkoxy, aryl, aralkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl or fluorocarbon groups containing 1 to 50 carbon atom(s), "X" is a hydrophilic polymer chain or segment, "Y" is a hydrophobic or oleophobic polymer chain or segment; "z" is a chain containing an organofunctional group which is an amide, quaternary ammonium, phosphate or sulfate group; R2 is same as R1, or is Hydrogen, hydroxyl group or a spacer that links said compound of the formula (I) with another compound of the same formula; and a, b, c, d and e are integers from 1 to 4,000; the application further relates to a process for making said compounds, and also to a method of treating fabric with an aqueous dispersion of the new compound.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a sunscreen composition. Known compositions do not provide enhanced SPF while using low amounts of organic sunscreens. It is thus an object of the present invention to provide high SPF photo-protective sunscreen compositions using relatively low amounts of sunscreen agents thereby keeping costs low.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a high SPF/UVAPF sunscreen composition. It is an object of the present invention to provide a high SPF (equal to or greater than 15) or high UVAPF (equal to or higher than 4) photo-protective sunscreen composition without compromising on the desired skin sensorial properties while using relatively low amounts of sunscreen agents thereby keeping costs low.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a personal care composition, particularly, a stable sunscreen composition. The problem associated with a dibenzoylmethane sunscreen is its relatively unstable nature, especially in the presence of a UV-B sunscreen. There is a need for using more readily and easily available compound as a sunscreen stabilizer thereby ensuring reduced cost of such sunscreen compositions. The present inventors have worked intensively on solving this problem and found that a derivative of an active (gingerol) found in ginger i.e. zingerone, provides for such improved stability.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a personal care composition. More particularly the present invention relates to stabilization of UVA sunscreen dibenzoylmethane derivatives or even more particularly Parsol 1789 TM (4-t-butyl-4'-methoxydibenzoylmethane) in personal care compositions. It is an object of the present invention to provide a personal care composition with relatively long photoprotection efficiency. It is another object of the present invention to stabilize Parsol 1789 by use of a natural substance or materials derived from plants. Surprisingly the present inventors have found that theaflavin or black tea extract having high levels of theaflavin, can act as a photostabilizer for dibenzoylmethane derivatives or Parsol-1789 TM .

The invention relates to a sunscreen composition. It is an object of the present invention to provide high SPF photo-protective sunscreen compositions while ensuring prolonged efficacy of the UV-A sunscreen used therein while using relatively low amounts of sunscreen agents thereby keeping costs low.
